Brad Ottens has walked out of Richmond. Its official, not a rumor.
What IYO opinions do u think he is worth.
Would we look at someone like Ottens??
Rhyce Shaw, McGough and P. 23??
Or would u do a 3 way trade to get Tenace and Spriggs, or Bruce or Johnstone. IMO hes goin (Otto) to sydney.
I think we could get involved but. We need to trade big, need some quality inputs. |

He would add to our hieght. In all honesty he should take a pay cut his performance has been a joke in the past few years.
He wants to go home to SA so no point even thinking about him. |

Why should Ottens take a pay cut Afterall he did make number 15 on Mike Sheehans top 50 list at the start of the year.
Another bullseye from Mike.

If he was on a performance based contract he would struggle to pay for a push bike. Lack Lustre in a team that had no future. It's not as if he starred every week. When you cannot stand out in a bunch of duds your in trouble. |

He'll be a cat next year. They need him most and have the currency to get him. They can offer Tennace + pick 15 for him which is more than Swans can offer. Richmond will use 15 to get Simmonds. _________________ Beware the embrace of the collingwood python |

Just think about this. Presti and Mcgough for Ottens.
Line up centre. Wakelin FB, Rocca CHB, Buckley Centre, Tarrant CHF, Ottens FF _________________ All this may be summed up in one word - CHARACTER - and if that is not worth developing, nothing is.

I wouldn't have Rocca at CHB. Leave Tarrant in the pocket, or move him top the wing. |

Richmond won't take Presti. They are rebuilding + will want a younger player or draft pick. If we can trade Presti for a first round then that plus McGough + Shaw is possible. Still think that in the end Geelong will offer enough to get him. _________________ Beware the embrace of the collingwood python |

If we go after Ottens you can forget any fantasy ideas of using Fraser as a permanant HFF. A forward line of Rocca, Ottens, Fraser and Tarrant would be ridiculously top heavy, and would give no opportunities to our up and coming forwards like C.Cloke, Davidson and Morrison which will be extremely important for the not too distant future.
Basically if you want to get Ottens, you need to trade one of Fraser, Tarrant or Rocca. None are viable backline options either so I wouldn't contemplate that either.
I would seriously consider a straight swap of Ottens and Fraser, although I know it would never happen. Only a few years between them, Ottens is a better ruckman (especially against big types) and can take a better contested grab. Fraser is better around the ground and at ground level but considering our needs Ottens would be a more suitable fit.
A forward line of:
HF: Didak Rocca Lockyer
F: Tarrant Ottens Davis
is far more dangerous than our current forward set-up, plus give us a better rucking back-up to Richards.
Traditional set-up
HF: Didak Rocca Fraser
F: Davis Tarrant Lockyer
Once again I know this would never happen because it would require balls from our admin, but I can dream. |

Don't think so because Wallace was talking about picking him back up in the PSD if he had to which only uncontracted players can enter. |

Didnt MM say he wanted to use Frase at CHB before McKee was ruled out of the game.
This may not be such a stupid proposition if thats the case next year.
Id still prefer to chase salopek or tenace. |

I wouldn't go for him due to our abundance of key forwards/ruckmen. We've got Fraser, Richards, Rocca, Tarrant, Cam Cloke, with guys like Davidson and Travis Cloke on the way.
If it was a tall defender up for grabs I'd consider it, but not a ruckman/forward.
He'd be a perfect fit for a club like Sydney. |

Would certainly look at him but not for that price. Perhaps McGough and Pick 23 or McGough and Shaw. He has really done shit all in the last couple seasons so he is not worth two players and a draft pick. |
