I watched the footage of them going into the Bataclan night club with their Kevlar jackets and helmets, and thought that their job was a hundred times more difficult than mine, and how much they are on my side when there is real evil abroad. of course they have to be kept accountable, but thank God we have men and women who will play their role, and play it most of the time very well despite incredible social and personal stress. _________________ Two more flags before I die! |

But, why wouldn't you? Did you have to make a conscious effort to treat him as a human being? Seems like a strange thing to say otherwise..
Anyway, any disparaging remarks about people, anywhere, being police officers after the tragic events in Paris? Seriously, you couldn't pay me enough to be a cop and be on the front line of that sort of stuff. Back to the poll options - they're definitely not 'just ordinary people'. |
Agre with both parts of this post.
David seriously, you can't see how arrogant your posting is on this? You knock others for judging all the time, and yet how judgemental ar you when it comes to figures in authority? Every criminal in your mind has a right to an excuse, yet the cops are held to a seperate standard. _________________ You cant fix stupid, turns out you cant quarantine it either! |

Just read what they had to do going into that nightclub. Two by two, stepping through doors into rooms unknowing about what was on the other side, facing men wearing suicide vests. Thank God for the police in a functioning liberal democracy. _________________ Two more flags before I die! |

Yeah, I don't know how you do that, so amazingly brave, all of them. True heroes. My sisters a cop, I don't know how they do it, having no idea what is going to happen that day, but having a pretty goodideatheywill see something they would rather not. _________________ You cant fix stupid, turns out you cant quarantine it either! |

^ yes indeed. Like all human institutions, they can go wrong, at times, but they're our internal army and we need them. _________________ Two more flags before I die! |

Now be fair. He didn't shoot much. What's a mere 16 shots between friends? Anyway, the other chap was black. Everybody knows killing a black kid isn't really murder. _________________ Let's eat Grandma. Commas save lives! |

In most of these cases there has been mitigating circumstances (from weapons, to attacks to charging the officer) and the officers have been released without charge. This case however is clearly just a thug who thinks he can murder with impunity. Makes you wonder how many cases of police shootings that don't have video are the same. |

Keep in mind the American cops are conditioned to expect every fuckstick they approach has a hidden weapon, usually a gun. If you don't shoot first you may not get a chance to shoot at all.
If a cop pulls you over in the US you sit up straight and put both hands on the wheel where they're visible and don't be a smartarse.
Doesn't excuse that bloke in the link, there's fucksticks everywhere, but just pointing out the cultural differences. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |
