Post subject: Grand Final Day
|
Well another year where it doesn't feel like Grand final day. Normally by this time I'm really excited setting up everything in the carport area, big screen tv, sound system, tables, eskies, munchies, heaters if needed and BBQ.
Normally have around 20-30 people turn up I have raffles and prizes organised, my favourite day of the year.
Even with covid stuffing it up meaning no visitors and being in WA instead of the "G" I still would be excited but the thing I hate the most? Having to wait until tonight for the game to start if effing shits me. So no setting up outside no feelings of excitement at all. I would still do my normal stuff without visitors just on a smaller scale but being a night final I will just stay inside and watch it.
Next year had better be a bloody day Grand Final or I will spew! _________________ Cheers big ears |

Same feelings here. Night grand final just doesn't work for me. Staying at home and not going to the usual shindig with the mates is disappointing. We have still organised to have the usual betting on the game via email instead of in person. Bets include 1 st goal , total frees , how many score reviews , norm smith , who is in front in each quarter etc etc . We only play for a wooden trophy a mate knocked up in his shed . The home made pie eating comp is on hold this year. Next year will hopefully be different with no restrictions on visitation and Craig McRae will have his first shot at being a premiership coach. _________________ I blame my hair loss on supporting Collingwood for 50 years |

Here in the UK the Grand Final is starting at 10:15am. With BT Sport (who will be taking the Channel 7 coverage) starting their programme an hour before first bounce. One of the great things about Australian Rules Football is the tradition. Perhaps I am old fashioned but for me the Grand Final should always be a day game.
Usually there is a massive AFL Grand Final party held at The Clapham Grand in London but for whatever reason it's not happening this year so I'll just be watching it at home.
Who does everyone want to win and what are your predictions for the game? I want the Doggies but reckon the Dees will get up by 28 points. |

Yawn π΄π΄
Very bored waiting for a game in which I will have no skin. Apathy rules π The game, if extremely close, could save the boredom but if it is a blowout, I will hit the sack before the end. No Collingwood, no genuine excitement try as I might π Collingwood IS football π© _________________ Don't confuse your current path with your final destination. I like the night granny and I'm warming to the idea of rotating it year by year to different states _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

I am feeling sadness and a longing looking at these scenes of the MCG. Miss it. And I am an out of stater! _________________ Side by Side |

^ Same, magirl
Have no interest in the Grand Final being rotated around the states, and I prefer the day time slot. _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023

Iβm wondering about how Eddie is feeling tonight with the Bulldogs playing in another GF with Collingwood paying a fair chunk of Treloars wages considering what he did for them when they were struggling to then only bend us over when we needed their assistance in our time of need.
Just another example of nice guys finishing last (or second last). _________________ - Side By Side - |

Nah, when youβre not in lockdown it will suck and itβs even worse when your team is actually playing. |
