ANNOUNCEMENT: SAM’s Annual General Meeting
Glenelg Jetty Hotel, 3.30pm, 16th December, 2007.
Dear SA Magpies Member,
Thanks for being part of SA Magpies 2nd successful year.
2007 AGM
On Sunday December 16th at 3.30pm, SA Magpies is holding it’s Annual General
Meeting at Glenelg Jetty Hotel.
Agenda
· Welcome
· Apologies
· 2007 Review
· Financial Report and Statement
· Election of Office Bearers and General Committee (Roles in 2008).
· General Business including:
- Decide Home Venue for SA Magpies on 2008.
- Prioritise which Player SAM should sponsor in 2008.
- 2008 Membership Fees.
The meeting will be followed by some Christmas drinks. No doubt we’ll reflect on the good times in 2007 and discuss how The ‘Pies can take those 2 extra steps in 2008.
2007 SUMMARY
In 2007, SA Magpies members :
· Received weekly information on SAM, Collingwood and Williamstown from “The Swooper”;
· Watched Collingwood matches together throughout the season (including access to live vision when games were not televised on either Fox or FTA).
· Won weekly competition prizes including, a signed football, shirts, stubby holders, bottle openers, free tickets to ‘Pies games, etc;
· Won prizes to ~$1,000 in SAM’s unique Footy Tipping Competition where tipping Collingwood is compulsory ($20 entry fee). Sean Rusling increased the interest with his tips each week.
· All SAM members were in the draw for a Signed Collingwood guernsey;
· Enhanced the website to a high quality deserved by Collingwood supporters: http://samagpies.magpies.net/
· Groups of SAM Members watched the ‘Pies together at AAMI Stadium, MCG (including ANZAC Day and Finals), Telstra Stadium in Sydney and other venues;
· Had access to:
o Players Sponsors Breakfast;
o “Inner Sanctum” packages;
o President’s Dinner packages;
o “Little Wizards” coaching clininc with Sean Rusling, Brad Scott and John Platten (Junior SAM Members);
o Holding the banner as ‘Pies fans ran onto the ground;
o Some game tickets that they would not have access to otherwise (includes finals);
A Cash Flow Statement was submitted to CFC for auditing.
Thanks to everyone who provided input through 2007. Special mentions for Kaylene Waters (Footy Tips), Rod Patterson (AKA The Swooper), John deGaris (Treasurer) and Min Chua (Website) for their regular input throughout the season.

TAC Cup
Round 1 - Collingwood v Adelaide: Satuday 9th February, Dubai, Time TBC.
2008 Premiership Season
Round 1 - Collingwood v Fremantle: Saturday 22nd March, MCG, 2.10pm.
Round 2 – Brisbane v Collingwood: Friday 29th March, Gabba, 7.40pm.
ANZAC Day – Collingwood v Essendon, Friday 25th April, MCG, 2.40pm.
Round 20 – Port Adelaide v Collingwood, Friday 15th August, AAMI, 7.40pm.
