This cannot happen
Let him go to Germany then rest and then come back late in the season again.
I cannot fathom not seeing him run out again. _________________ HANDS OFF OUR JUMPER

The time is right as the body just aint up to it anymore.
Would you rather remember Buckley as he was (a highly skilled, well oiled machine) or see him reduced to a broken down wreck making poor skill errors and decisions and sitting on the pine.
Its time to move on to a new Magpie era with new cult figures such as Thomas, Pendles and Clarke.
Farwell to an absolute champion of the game. I know you didn't win a premiership but one day you will still be part of a Collingwood premiership one way or another.
And if you want anything to go by Bucks, have a look at the joy on Billy Brownless when his team won a premiership despite him not winning one individually. |

I started seeing the end of Bucks in his last few games, just little things; a yard of pace gone, kicks not travelling the distance... things I hoped never to see from Buckley.
If he wants one more season then he can have it if there's room on the list, but time waits for no man. |

Sadly i agree, he was still better than a lot of other players, but he had lost that sharpness to his skills and abiliites that made him an all time great.
THat said, I would luv to see him go again. purely for selfish reason though.
Thank you Nathan, you have been a wonderful part of our great clubs history. _________________ "If everybody agrees, then somebody isn't thinking."

I'm not too sure about this one. I just watched the last minutes of the game again and there is no sign that he tweaked his hammy. The look on his face when he was on the bench was more one of frustration at being pulled than despair at having done his hammy again. Plus there was no sign of a limp as he walked off.
If you ask me, the real reason he finished the game on the bench was that he was buggered and wasn't contributing much on the field. The West Coast game took a lot more out of him than the other players - give him a full pre-season and he'll be fine for next year.
Until I hear it from the old fella himself it's all just rumour and speculation... |

Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone,
Prevent the dog from barking with a juicy bone,
Silence the pianos and with muffled drum
Bring out the coffin, let the mourners come.
Let aeroplanes circle moaning overhead
Scribbling on the sky the message He Is Dead,
Put crepe bows round the white necks of the public doves,
Let the traffic policemen wear black cotton gloves.
He was my North, my South, my East and West,
My working week and my Sunday rest,
My noon, my midnight, my talk, my song;
I thought that love would last for ever: I was wrong.
The stars are not wanted now: put out every one;
Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun;
Pour away the ocean and sweep up the wood.
For nothing now can ever come to any good.

Sad news. I was one of those who thought he would play on for one more season... I think we'll be remembering 2007 as the beginning of one era and the end of another, perhaps. _________________ "Every time we witness an injustice and do not act, we train our character to be passive in its presence." – Julian Assange |
