Post subject: Brisbane Profits from Pie Supporters | |
|
Many Collingwood supporters, unable to secure Grand Final tickets last season, were able to buy tickets from the Brisbane Football club for about $500. Brisbane somehow had tickets availabe in a packaged format that included pre and post match functions, that were obviously not intended to be attended by Collingwood supporters. Surely excess tickets should be returned to the AFL for fair and uninflated sale.

The simple fact is that all clubs recieve a GF ticket allocation. Most clubs use this allocation to "value Add". Some clubs even budget for this yearly windfall and would be further in debt without it.
I cannot see a problem with this as I think GF tics are undervalued as they stand and if you can spend a little to make a lot then so be it.
The competing clubs of course get extra allocation, but never enough. We need to wrestle more seats off the MCC members to truly cater for the needs of AFL supporters.
Vale Waverley, our only true football venue that was planned to accomodate 150,000 fans on GF days.

The whole stinking competition profits from the collingwood supporter..they're quick to write bulls*** letters of to the club and generally put the boots in at every chance they get but these morons have got to realise that without the collingwood supporter the competition is TH*****!!

100,000 voices and a million shining eyes
This our country's one true game
And the footy ground's on fire
And collingwood's sons and daughter's, under wide Australian skies
Win or lose we're back again to claim the winner's prize.....
Go Pies you bloody beauties !! 'Caaarm Ornnn' kill the Bloody Bastards.

Club allocated tickets are meant for official use and corporate fund raising and are usually assigned early in the season. Any left over tickets at the end of the home and away season should be returned to AFL to prevent skelping. I.e. use them or lose them! If any individual did the same thing that Brisbane has, they could be charged. I don't have a problem with any club raising funds honestly. I don't approve of clubs exploiting loyal football supporters (especially Collingwood supporters) during Grand Final week.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the Bears return 80+ tickets to the Collingwood members ballot?
I'm sure they did.
And don't single out the Bears on this subject. I also remember plenty of people on this and other sites had GF tics 2 weeks out, sourced from the Pauperoos.

Brisbane more than suck - they cheat. Collingwood was not beaten by a better team on the day but rather buy a higher salary cap and some awful umpire calls when it matters. This year we should expose Bribane as we continue our improvement toward perfection.
