All the news today seems to be the no fly zone that will be in effect during the Commonwealth Games.
Although not public knowledge, I have it on good authority (from someone who works at Melbourne Town Hall) that a no homeless zone will be established during the Games, but a no fly zone?
How will the Games organisers prevent flies from entering any of the Games venues? Why should those living near any Games venue be free of flies when the rest of us have to put up with them?
Favouritism at it's worst! Maybe it's a kiss-off to stop locals protesting about the F1 GP. _________________ Whale

I favour a no-fly zone.
Though the makers of "Aerogard" may want to sue! |

Tanks are a bit drastic to control a fly problem, Tess. _________________ Whale

Haven't the flies been shocking this year.
I go for a walk along the Merri Creek every morning and they're just outrageous. There's always several dozen of them buzzing around my face. I have to be careful not to breathe too deep or I get a fly up my nostril.
One thing I love doing is letting a few hundred of them settle on the back of my shirt ... and then shake them off and watch them swarm around for a few seconds before they settle back on my shirt again.
Ah, well ... small things amuse small minds.
One thing's for sure ... with my ability to attract flies, I won't be allowed anywhere near the Commonwealth Games.
I shower every day ... HONEST I DO. |

Hehe.
Btw Dale, it is public knowledge that there will be an effort in regards to homelessness during the games. It was on the news not long ago. |

Yeah. They're going to put them up in motels for the duration, to save Melbourne the embarrassment of having to admit that it has a problem with homelessness.
Then when the Games are over, they'll throw them all back on to the streets again and let them rot, as usual. |

Of course not, I'd think mosquitos would be worse, we had tons of them down Clarendon Vale when I lived there, the place used to be a swamp.
Annoyed of flies, yes, scared no. _________________ Ðavâgé
