Tess, this act was more than likely done by people who will turn into the person who has scarred your kids.
This type of person often starts with animal cruelty then works their way up.
Nip it in the bud now. |

well Eunos you have a good point there that people who are cruel to animals often end up moving on to people, but for god's sake it was a dolphin! If only every murder of a human provoked such 'outrage' from the victorian government..... and I know Eunos you were probably only half-serious but the death penalty?
(by the way I'm not at all excusing whoever committed the act, I believe these people should be punished heavily... along with all of those who mistreat cats) _________________ "Every time we witness an injustice and do not act, we train our character to be passive in its presence." – Julian Assange |

If Barry Hall or Gasper did it, they'd still get off.

How many Dolphins have been stabbing humans lately David? Your apologist attitude is pathetic. Humans are a lot stupider than a lot of animals. |

who cares? Its a human world. As I said above, I believe that animals should be cared for as much as possible and I agree that those who are cruel to animals are (as in this case) generally sick individuals who are likely to move onto people.... its alright Eunos I knew already that dolphins were mammals, which puts them on the same level as cats, dogs, monkeys and mice. 3rd Degree I haven't really seen any dolphins stabbing humans lately not sure how it has much to do with anything I'm saying though..... _________________ "Every time we witness an injustice and do not act, we train our character to be passive in its presence." – Julian Assange |

couldn't they put up nets or something within about a kilometre of the beach? anyhow if there is no other solution you have to put people's safety ahead of that of the shark in question..... _________________ "Every time we witness an injustice and do not act, we train our character to be passive in its presence." – Julian Assange |

Just don't surf near a seal breeding area, surfers know the risks. The bloke in question says how he will be back in the water soon there is a mutual respect. I think nets maybe okay on some patrolled beaches but they cause more problems than they solve often a lot of whales and dolphins and other sea life get caught up in it. The reason for more shark attacks on patrolled beaches is due to our overfishing. |

Tess, the surfer was in the Sharks domain.
In fact, he and his mates were wearing black wetsuits, in a known seal gathering area.
"Look at me fishy, I'm splashing around. I'm an injured seal!"
"I'M LUNCH!"
BTW, White pointers are a protected species. Why? Because we have killed them to near extinction.
Thank you Peter Benchley. |

Interesting fact.
Sharks kill 10 people a year worldwide.
But there is a more sinister killer that lurks on our small blue/green orb.
It kills 150 people a year. It injures and maims many, many more.
We normally step back in revulsion and fear at the sight of the predator we call "shark".
But we do not act this way when confronted with the mass killer known as...........................
the coconut.
