Law and Order star dies
From correspondents in New York
30dec04
ACTOR Jerry Orbach, longtime star of the Law & Order television series, died from prostate cancer today, his manager told a local New York City radio station. He was 69.
Orbach, who earned a reputation as the quintessential New Yorker through his work in films such as Prince of the City and Crimes and Misdemeanors, was diagnosed with prostate cancer earlier this month.
Orbach starred for 12 seasons in the original Law & Order television series as Detective Lennie Briscoe and was set to star in a new spinoff from the successful franchise later this year.
His manager, Robert Malcolm, told New York radio station 1010 WINS that the actor had died.
Orbach, a lanky actor with a deep voice and a slicked mop of black hair, first made his name on Broadway, winning a Tony for Promises, Promises. He was also in the original cast of Chicago and 42nd Street.

Sad to hear, he was my favourite actor on that show, he was good on Law and Order, he will be sorely missed.
RIP. |

Sad news.
Prostrate cancer is terrible. My grandfather died of it about 10 years ago. He was in hospital for months and in alot of pain. I always make sure I donate to Peter Mac at the Coll V Filth games as they helped him while he was sick. |

I was so upset when I heard it!!
He played 'Jake Houseman' in Dirty Dancing (My favourite movie of all time!)
I was like ' No more 'Sit down Jake' or a Dirty Dancing 2!'
R.I.P Jerry. My heart goes out to you, your family and your loved ones at this sad time...
Love always, Alyssa xoxo _________________ *~Alyssa's Song Of The Moment~*
