I have got this from a reliable source:
-Dean Benson and Justin Crow have both been delisted, with a few clubs interested in Benson.
No jokes - 99% sure. |

Both players are Rookie Listed players and are as such are not subject to trade and can re-enter the drafting period. Justin Crow I believe can only have one more year on a Rookie List.
Benson on the other hand is open slather for another 3 years. |

It would surprise to see the best VFL player award recipient delisted. He had 1 game and looked ok. If he has a year left to run on his rookie listing it would seem an odd decision if true. Perhaps he was off the senior list after being promoted and back onto the rookie list? With Maxwell sure to be on the senior list i would think there has to be a spot for Crow on the rookie list. |

Rookies can only be listed for two years. The reason Justin has been a rookie for three years is that he is actually in his second stint with the club. He was delisted last year and when the rookie draft came about, he was still available and we grabbed him again.
Rookies only get two years before being mandatorily delisted. _________________ Whale

Can Crow be dropped down from the seniors back to the rookies? |

Crow, as well as Maxwell and Leonard, remain on the rookie list until officially listed as a senior player. They can be retained as rookies, but have to wait for a long term injury to be promoted.
I'd like to see Maxy on the senior list full time, but wouldn't have a problem if Justin and Zane are kept on as rookies. _________________ Whale

I'd delist Crow and Fanning from the rookie list, retain Leonard and Benson and promote Maxwell, leaving three spaces for this season. |

Nothing particularly wrong with him, but we have Richards, Fraser, Hall, C.Cloke and T.Cloke on the list.
Fanning doesn't look likely enough to break ahead of any of them in all honesty, so I'd prefer we take a chance on another kid rather than invest another year in David. |

He was never going to set the place on fire, and it has been mentioned that he was the designated project player.
What else would you expect from someone that was playing in the NBL up in Cairns prior to being drafted. Plus, he was struck down by the dreaded ruckmans knee-on-knee injury for several weeks.
Of all the players who played regularly at Williamstown, I think David showed the most improvement. _________________ Whale

I hope your right Dale, but to me he looked like a skinny uncoordinated tall bloke who they were just hoping could turn into a footballer. A fair punt, but one that may not reap many rewards.
I'd be more than happy to give him another year and hopefully see some huge improvement, but we've got to remember that for every player thats retained on the RL thats one less potential player on the list. With Leonard and Benson near certainties to retain there spot I would have liked to have at least 3 new faces on the list. |

More on Benson - Wanted by the Lions and a few clubs are speaking to him. If he misses out, Williamstown want him. |

Unco-ordinated, for a footballer, yes.
Skinny, at 100kgs, no!
Watching him early in the season, you could see the basketball background in him just by the way he moved across the ground. Running to position, he'd use the hunched forward, head bobbing movement often seen on a basketball court.
However, his leap was phenomenal once he learnt how to jump with more run-up than he was used to.
Towards the end of the season, he had learnt how to read the play so as to be in a position to make a contest, and he pulled in a few top grabs to reward his efforts. _________________ Whale
