Absolute Legend of the club. Best ever.
Thanks for your leadership Scotty.
His leadership won't end here though. He will be an essential leader/coach out on the field until the day he retires.
Hopefully that's not for at least few more years.

Thanks for your service to the club,Scott. One of the best captains of the club I can remember.Always led by example on and off the field.A true Collingwood champion.I just hope the boys can give you one more premiership before you eventually retire.(hopefully not for a while yet!)

Champion can do it all.

Best captain the game has ever seen.

Looking forward to seeing you play in 2023.

Pleasure to watch.

Legend. Will be even better when he takes over from Fly in 2033 a senior coach and leads us to our 20th flag.

Great Captain who just made a great Captain's call to stand down - unselfish and offers a great support for whoever comes next. The perfect transition.

The best part of his speech was that he might play on for a few years! How good would that be?

I'm still shocked he resigned his captaincy. I believe he could have easily gone another year. Typical selfless call he made to pass it on to someone else. I just hope our next captain lives up to the job that all our other captains have done. Scott is a hard act to follow.

Do we think Pendles can be vice captain.

Like not fully hand it in but be vice captain for the rest of his career.

Sounds like he's keen to play on for another couple of years at least. Reckon he'll join the 400 club.

After that, I hope he becomes an assistant and then senior coach elsewhere for about 10 yrs, then returns to take the helm as our senior coach in about 2035.

Rude this is his planned exit
He wants to be the shoulder to take some pressure off the next captain
He has 2023 on contract and as I understand it a option in his favour for 2024
On form he has that in him easy
His game time can slowly be decreased from high 80’s% down into the 70’s allowing for other players to take more responsibility
He can still be a infield coach and also when on the bench offer feedback as well to players
He’s probably the greatest clubman in my memory
Superb human and captain

Scott Pendlebury "thank you" will never be enough for what you have given and been for the club. Right up there with our best ever captains.
First noticed your brilliance very early in your career in stealing the ball from our ex Paul Williams as he was running past you when you were on the ground.

Ever calm demeanour. Quick and safe hands. Unflinching commitment to win the ball. Supreme ability to slow down time with ball in hand, assess options then execute to see the ball in the hands of a team mate or a goal.

Looking forward to seeing your post captaincy games, hopefully including a second premiership.
