Who is Jack Bowes (Gold Coast) and why is he on $800,000 a year (according to today's paper).
Never heard of him, and Gold Coast will give you pick 7 as well .
How can he be on that much money? - puts our Grundy and De Goey deals into perspective.
Paper says that Geelong are interested. |

He had his salary pushed back a couple of times from previous seasons and is now owed $800,000 next year. |

All good questions. I think the other aspect these inquiries raise is the prevalence of “problematic” contracts in the league. There was a lot of collective hand wringing on this forum about Treloar and co (don’t get me wrong I didn’t enjoy it either) but I suspect lots of other clubs would like to do the same thing, but don’t want to deal with the fallout. Now maybe we were forced to do something then because you can’t pay more than the cap, but I don’t think we should single our club out over Grundy because it’s kind of the same issue. I think we will see more of this. _________________ It's never as good/nor bad as it seems... |

Gold Coast had to overpay on potential to retain players from interstate, hence the big numbers (backended) for a slightly better than average footballer.
They've changed their stance and want to clear cap space to pay the players they genuinely want to keep based on form. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

Ratugolea wants out of Geelong. Wants to go to Port but not sure they are desperate for him. Geelong say he is a required player. He’s 24.
I’d entertain a deal of him and a low pick for Henry. _________________ 'Collingwood are the Bradmans of Football'

Geelong making out like he's required player even though he can't catch. |

Sounds like a fair swap to me (if Henry is definitely out the door). _________________ "Every time we witness an injustice and do not act, we train our character to be passive in its presence." – Julian Assange |

I'd agree, can't imagine we would get much more _________________ "You hate a mean man, a grasping man, a man who wants everything and gives nothing. That’s Collingwood. They are a law unto themselves"

Probably Ginni’s fault he wants out. _________________ Human behavioural studies suggest people who use a lot of swear words tend to be more honest & trustworthy. |

Does not equate too loss of Henry. Maybe with their pick 7. plus him as the steak knives, if that. _________________ Poverty exists not because we cannot feed the poor, but because we cannot satisfy the rich.

I do rate him, on exposed form right now he's better than Krueger, but i think Freddy has more potential. Plus, how many spare parts talls who aren't really key forwards or rucks do we need?
I'd rather a high pick in next years draft. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |
