Suggested changes:
OUTS:
* C Brown: the uncertainty each time he gets the ball is untenable
* Bianco: flatlined
* WHE: cannot win a contest or hardball get. Time has come
* Carmichael: just cannot seem to find enough easy ball and impact
* Ginnivan: hamstring injury
INS:
* DeGoey: hopefully fit
* F Macrae: another 30 possession, 2 goal game needs rewarding
* Henry: if fit take a chance, we need firepower
* Ruscoe: extra support down back
Sub:
* Carmichael. Seems more effective than a regular starting member of the 22.
Summary:
Out with the flakies and in with the match-winners. |
Your comments re Carmichael (in outs) and Carmichael (in ins) don’t make any sense 🙄 Either he doesn’t make an impact or he does make an impact, he can’t do both in the game.
I’m really surprised at the way I’m feeling tonight. Before the game, I was worried about taking a winning sequence of 12 into next week for the probability of losing to the Scum next as the inevitable lousy effort. However I have grave concerns about us losing the flow, momentum and confidence, and reversely the scum feeling far more confident after our fairly pathetic display of unusually shocking footy today. Confused as to why NOW ffs 🫣 to go into next week as a 50 - 50 proposition is bloody absurd after the season we have
had. I’m now crapping myself about next Sunday and the making the feral scum fans in Bendigo having their pound of flesh off me 😫 I can handle the morons but giving them ammunition to shoot me with is not nice Collingwood! How about we explode after the kick in the arse we received today and rebound hard rather than hit the wall and crumble? Feeling flat about the dumb gift see have presented the scum with of a tired, worn out team that struggled badly all game. I pray that it’s a one off and that we DO deserve the double chance. If not the bitter pill will be that it was a false dawn after all 😪 _________________ I term the current Collingwood attack based strategy “Unceasing Waves” like on a stormy and windy day with rough seas. They are missing a huge chunk of their best starting midfield in (Kennedy, Hewitt, Martin.) So we should break even given our midfield is hardly setting the world on fire. The game will be won or lost on our pressure.
4.7 million dollar question, did the loss help refocus us? Or were we simply running off momentum week to week? I have always like to think the former is true.
As I said in the game thread, I am worried about Maynard looks to be battling with his shoulder.
Call me crazy, I don't think Ginnivan is a huge loss, I feel like he has been due for a rest for awhile. I really hope Henry gets a game, but from what I gather he was quite in the VFL. Will Kelly? Or Mcrae as a forward? |
I would give Ginnie’s role to Carmichael, he’s a decent mark and adds pressure, doesn’t mind a goal, I would give Carmichael’s role to Finlay, unless Jordy plays of course. |

We have achieved so much this season. I can't wait for Sunday.
Top 4 up for grabs.
Win and we play Cats - lose and we face elimination final against the Tigers.
Both will be extremely tough matches.
Throw everything at them this weekend boys - Go Pies!! |

Ah yes, not long now. Friday 0605WST depart Perth, check in to Crown just after lunch, local time and swim a couple of k's in the indoor pool... can't wait to get to the ground on Sunday to witness us secure our top 4 spot and eliminate the enemy from the 8.
*Fun fact - The Pies have never lost to Carlton when I've been at the ground (it's only 6 times since 1994, but still ) _________________ Don't count the days, make the days count. |

Would you be crazy enough to drop Lipinski? Like really that performance yesterday was horrific, barely hit a target. He's basically Treloar without the run, his start to the year was great but isn't mentioned enough. Not hard enough in the centre, can't remember the last time he won a centre clearance, it's gotta be MacRae this week surely. _________________ Smoking shadows behind the mirrors - Travis Cloke |

Man, looks like the WCE loss has come to bite us.
We would’ve been sitting pretty had we won that. _________________ WE WERE ROBBED, RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME, RIGHT IN FRONT OF MEEE!

To this I will say yes, but only if you can 'hand on heart' tell me that you expected us to win 11 games in a row! _________________ RED "BABY" CAVANAUGH: Didn't hear what the bet was.

Please be careful so that you can definitely attend the ground this Sunday. Tread softly and carefully mate! No need for risk taking for the week. No last minute hiccups that might make you miss the match. 😥😰
You must, you must, your attendance is a must 🤞🏽

Will do.
On reflection, dropping that game yesterday may prove to be a godsend.
The pressure to keep the run going is gone now and I'm sure the team will be focusing on winning this and getting that double chance. It's an elimination final for them, but it's also massive for our club.
All that hard work to get in the position we now find ourselves in must be capitalised on.
No doubt it will be another tight contest. Pies by 13 points for me.
TAB have us $1.88 faves.
Ladbrokes both sides @ $1.90 _________________ Don't count the days, make the days count. |

Felt like the proverbial hitting of the wall yesterday. Effort wasn’t there, dare was gone etc. Case can be made for sickness, injury but Sydney are very good and we saw the gap, especially on their home deck.
Crystal ball and I think most of us are nervous for this week. Down some soldiers after a reality check and Blues will be throwing all they have at us.
Hoping McRae comes in. Not sure about Henry from what I hear around defensive effort but let’s see. _________________ The match day thread is for unfiltered BS knee jerk reactions. The time for level headed comment comes after. |

Ginni out is a huge problem up forward for that X Factor.
I would like us to switch McCreery into that role and get someone else be the defensive forward.
the SCG is a horrible ground to play at for our game style, so hopefully its better at the MCG this week.
not sure why Billy wasnt put into the midfield more often either |

Did you watch St Kilda and Gold Coast Suns on the weekend? To put us in the same category when you look at who they played compared to who we played doesn't reflect where we stand as a football club. |
