Carmichael play on the half forward line I like his kick so to Johnston he could become a permanent Center half forward
McRae in for Adams
Grundy in for Cox |

Give Grundy one more week, and i would not be dropping Cox, he dominated these Toffs last time, and he works well with Cameron. _________________ Poverty exists not because we cannot feed the poor, but because we cannot satisfy the rich.

If Howe doesn't get up then perhaps Mighty Madge or as a longshot Will Kelly could get a call up as long as he doesn't get an injury brushing his teeth this week. |
Yes agree and I guess JDG will move more into the midfield. Carmichael is a good sub too unless you think he comes in for Bianco and maybe make Henry or Ruscoe the sub? |
I would like to see Carmichael in the playing 22 (rather than Bianco), but it has been pointed out elsewhere that it might be a question of his fitness why he isn't selected there. If this is true, then I agree with the minimalist approach: out Adams and in Checkers _________________ Free Julian Assange!!

They are getting games into Bianco, I guess the thing we are unsure of is Carmichael's ability to run out a game. I can't see there being many changes though. Maybe 2. _________________ Get back on top. |

In Mihocek out Adams. Bianco and Carmichael might swap. If Howe out then Ruscoe in as he took his place last time Howe was out and was not bad.

With Richmond beating Brisbane, we are now outright 3rd on the ladder.
I watched the last quarter of gripping football.
This benefited Collingwood, so why not have a heart stopper? _________________ Jamie Elliott...you beauty

You might be right Cam, but I heard Fly describe Carmichael as "an aerobic beast", which suggests he has a great tank. |

We now can lose a game and still be guaranteed top 4 |

Carmichael doen't handball much so wont be replacing Adams for mine.
A more likely match is Fin Macrae who had 29 disposals in the vfl this week.

Unless, JDG spends more time in the centre, leaving a spot open for a full game for Carmichael in the fwd line.
If Howe doesn't make it, there's a more difficult predicament.
I don't see a ready solution. Magden is available but kicked 3 goals as a fwd.
Ruscoe could come back possibly but Kelly is still not impressive.
A return of Grundy could pose quite a conundrum to selections and may even unsettle the team, IMHO. _________________ Jamie Elliott...you beauty

You make some good points TaS.
However, I see Carmichael as being a certain starter, after successive weeks of having a high impact as the sub. I see he and JDG rotating between the midfield and forward line. So for mine, Carmy comes in for the injured Adams.
I'm assuming Howe plays, as Fly said he should be right to go. So someone has to make way for Checkers. Unluckily it will probably be Bianco. With those 2 changes, I'm now leaning towards giving Grundy one more week in the VFL, then bringing him back the following week to take on the Swans on the smaller SCG.
In: Checkers, Carmichael

If we are to win then it's almost a certainty it'll go right down to the wire and be by two goals or less... |

Personally I'd:
In:
* Mihocek (hopefully freshened up)
* Grundy (we need his groundball, midfield hustle)
* Henry (another forward weapon)
* Carmichael (deserves 4 quarters)
Out:
* Cox (omit)
* McCreery (omit as not doing enough)
* Adams (inj)
* Bianco (Play as the Sub)
B: Maynard Moore Murphy
HB: Noble Howe N Daicos
C: J Daicos DeGoey S Sidebottom
HF: Henry D Cameron P Lipinski
F: Elliott Mihocek Ginnivan
F: Grundy Pendlebury ......
ICH: WHE, Johnson, Quaynor, Carmichael
SUB: Bianco

Henry is a great talent but he does not do enough defensively. There is no way he is coming in for McCreery. There was a great analysis on the first crack podcast tonight about the way Collingwood are defending nowadays. It shed a lot of light on how McFly and his offsiders have transformed the game plan to bring us to where we are. Players that won’t buy in to leaving their man to slow down the opposition, will not make it on offensive talent alone. I hope Henry gets ot, for he is a real potential weapon. |

For mine,
INS Checkers, Carmichael, Kelly (if Howe Out)
OUTS Adams, Bianco (Sub)
Note on Kelly, remember Ash Johnson wasn't exactly tearing it up B4 his selection. All Kelly has to focus on is playing on his man and let Darcy and Murph do the intercepts |
