The thing that really stands out to me is that in our last to matches, 19 votes have gone to our ruckmen... |

Both Cameron and Cox have more votes than Grundy. Hopefully that will act as motivation for him to regain the mantle as our number 1 ruck. |

^I reckon after the obvious votes, it's extremely difficult to predict. Coxy and Checkers were the only certainties when you think about it.
No doubt this is partly because of our bias towards players as fans, partly because we want to enjoy the game rather than analyse it, and partly because we don't know the roles and values being prioritised. Also, fans definitely give encouragement awards, and home coaches probably do at times, too. Then there's stuff we don't know about, like injuries and personal hardships, that might impress.
E.g., Moorey might have got votes instead of Daics because he made it so damned hard for them to score, pleasing and bothering both coaches respectively, whereas we're salivating at finally having someone like young Daics who can kick like a laser in a big game! McRae probably has higher standards than us when it comes to disposal given the teams he's played and worked with. If only he knew our suffering over the past thirty years! Or maybe neither coach rates sitting behind the ball (which is not a knock on Daics; we know he's playing that role to protect his body).
I tend to go much harder on players with dodgy disposal like Adams and to a lesser extent Crispy, while some people love the tough stuff, so they in fact go easier on them. Another good example is WHE. His nonchalance does my head in, but others love that touch of class. _________________ In the end the rain comes down, washes clean the streets of a blue sky town.
