The John Peers/Ash Barty combo moved into the quarterfinals, where they'll play Stefanos Tsitsipas and Maria Sakkari of Greece. |
They won, 6-4, 4-6, 10-6. Into the medal round. _________________ Donny.

Score 2-2 at end of regular time. Looked like losing 2-1 before a fabulous strike by Sam Kerr levelled the scores.
GB awarded a penalty in ET1 but magnificently saved by Leah Micah.
Almost immediately after, Aussies scored via Mary Fowler.
Matildas went 4-2 up in ET2 courtesy of Sam Kerr (again) before GB scored with about 6 minutes to go.
Goal scorers: Alana Kennedy, Mary Fowler, Sam Kerr (2)
Sam Kerr is now Australia’s highest ever goal scorer. _________________ If you are foolish enough to be contented, don't show it, but just grumble with the rest. - Jerome K Jerome |

From the ABC blog:
Quote: | Emma McKeon has won two more gold medals in Tokyo, taking her tally at this Games to seven — the equal most by any woman in any sport in Olympic history.
The dual golds came in the 50m freestyle and the women's 4x100m medley relay.
McKeon has now won gold in the women's 4x100m relay, the 100m freestyle, 50m freestyle and women's 4x100m mixed relay and bronze in the 100m butterfly, women's 4x200m relay and mixed 4x100m medley relay.
No Australian has won 10 Olympic medals or more than medals in one Games. Only one woman in any sport in history — Russian gymnast Maria Gorokhovskaya in 1952 — can match her haul of seven.
She now has five Olympic gold medals — the most in Australian history, tied with Ian Thorpe. |

Massive thumbs up.
Another bit of criticism to Seven, is they show events that are replays but the top right says "Live and Free". And they act like it's live TV. "We're going to cross to..." but that even ended already.
That or you flick it on and you can't tell if its a replay or live... That mostly happened with the swimming. And they'd show the same race over and over. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

No change to Aussie medal count.
Chances for additional medals are in sailing and team sports (hockey, soccer, basketball) which won’t be decided until later in the week.
Outside chance to score medals in the track & field. _________________ If you are foolish enough to be contented, don't show it, but just grumble with the rest. - Jerome K Jerome |
