A new report on Greenwood:

https://www.afl.com.au/news/616451/tough-pie-s-future-up-in-the-air-after-ongoing-concussion-symptoms

It also suggests that Adams may be back for the Geelong game and that Elliott is pushing to play after the bye.

This weeks video from CFC: https://www.collingwoodfc.com.au/video/939349/injury-report-round-10

And afl.com.au's take for this week:

Quote:
Adams' training has progress to a level where he is poised to re-join main training this week with the hope of being cleared to play against Geelong next week. Elliott's recovery is also ramping up and will be integrated into skills training this week. Sier suffered bleeding to his hip last week after a knock at training and will be assessed later this week after failing to play at either level against Sydney. Ruscoe has been cleared of structural damage to his shoulder but is likely to miss at least one more week. Greenwood will visit a specialist on Friday to learn more about his concussion symptoms stemming from a big hit in round five. Howe has undergone his hamstring surgery, with the Pies to get a more definitive timeline on his return next week. Nathan Murphy and Jordan Roughead will be available after passing tests for concussion. - Mitch Cleary.

And here we are:

Brayden Sier - Hip - Test
Anton Tohill - Adductor - Test
Trey Ruscoe - Shoulder - 1-2 weeks
Taylor Adams - Knee - 1-2 weeks
Jamie Elliott - Leg - 2-3 weeks
Reef McInnes - Ankle - 8-10 weeks
Jeremy Howe - Hamstring - 8-14 weeks
Levi Greenwood - Concussion - TBC

Nathan Murphy and Jordan Roughead both right to go. Max Lynch ok to go.

Great news with Adams and Elliot coming along nicely and looking to return soon. Sier and Tohill will probably miss one more week. Crap news for McInnes and Howe, we'll have to wait at least 8 weeks for both of them.

And very concerning news for Levi Greenwood. We'll know a bit more on Friday night. His playing future could be in doubt.

Only our elite, clinical arsenal of clustercluck merchant coaching staff, could allow an injury of this nature to occur at training.

too bad if we wanted to select Cox this week to draw two Port defenders...

Draw 2 defenders?

They’d be running merrily off him all afternoon and he’d be 15 metres behind them in slow motion!!

As opposed to our other forwards, who also chase like they're running through quicksand?

Some overdue good news for @CollingwoodFC fans:

Believe Taylor Adams has made late surge to return this weekend.
Likely to play, a week earlier than expected.

That's from Mark Stevens twitter account.

Will he play? Are we rushing him back??

I love his passion and endeavour to play but is it worth the risk? Why not keep him in cotton wool until after the bye? With our “annus horribilus” I’m paranoid about players having injury relapses that ends their seasons.

With Adams named to face Port, here we are:

Quote:
Brayden Sier - Hip - Test
Anton Tohill - Adductor - Test
Trey Ruscoe - Shoulder - 1-2 weeks
Jamie Elliott - Leg - 2-3 weeks
Reef McInnes - Ankle - 8-10 weeks
Jeremy Howe - Hamstring - 8-14 weeks
Levi Greenwood - Concussion - TBC

I expect Tohill and Sier to miss a week, but after the Adams news, maybe not??

Brayden Sier and Anton Tohil were listed as tests last week, but the VFL team had a bye. Both should be playing VFL footy this week.

Trey Ruscoe could be tested for a return this week. Jamie Elliott is almost ready and should be tested to return in the next 2 games.

Reef McInnes and Jeremy Howe are still some time away (At least 7 weeks each).

Levi Greenwood is a bit of a mystery, but has continued to show concussion symptoms.

AFL and Club reports should come tomorrow night for a clearer picture.
