Congratulations to Tom Wilson on his debut this week. He's a great size, at 194 cms and 86 ks. A former Boomer basket baller, at 23 yrs, he's been a professional athlete in 2 sports for several years now, so has proven his commitment. Although recruited as a forward, he's been excelling in defence in the VFL, so he may well end up debuting by playing on Buddy! Welcome to the big time Tom. |

Congratulations to Tom.
He will be an interesting watch. He gets a bit of the footy, generally uses it well and picks good options ..... at VFL level at least.
If he can cement his spot, that would really help to plan for the future ( post Roughead and Howe ) |

Great news. Was hoping he'd get the nod. Hope he does well! _________________ "Every time we witness an injustice and do not act, we train our character to be passive in its presence." – Julian Assange |

It's just heart-warming to see another young man get his chance. Bruzzy was pretty pleased too!!!!
It has been quite the amazing story for Tom. I wonder if he would've earnt more from basketball than footy??? He must love playing footy and he's sure had to earn his opportunity.

Congratulations to him and I hope it goes really well. |

It depends on what level he was destined for...

Post subject: Any thoughts on how Tom Wilson went? | |
|
My impression was Wilson had a bit of a shocker of a debut and looked out of his depth for much of the game (hanging back at contests, not running hard enough, not disposing of it well when he did get it), but improved a little towards the end once he started to get his hands on the ball more. But reading the post-match thread, a couple of people praised his game, which made me wonder if I missed something. Did anyone else have any thoughts on how he went, and whether he’ll keep his spot next week?
Stats:
