Post subject: AFL Live. Out Foxtel -in Kayo | |
|
With my Telstra account up till this season I could watch every AFL game as Fox was Telstra,s buddy
I hear from a friend that Foxtel own Kayo which was loosing money so to get them back to being profitable they substituted their Telstra customers complimentary broadcast for the Kayo which comes with a one year minimum charge of $5 per month which after 12 months reverts to $25 per month if you continue using it _________________ I'm not arguing--just explaining why i am right |

That may be so but i was happy with Foxtel
Kayo apart from AFL have many other sports local and international which I have no interest in
It may well suit many but not me personally
I was happy with Foxtel anyway _________________ I'm not arguing--just explaining why i am right |

I’m on that deal at the moment, and it definitely has its perks compared to the AFL app (capacity to watch through a TV, much more easily pause and resume and/or start from the beginning, etc.), but not sure I’ll renew when the discount ends in 12 months – $25 a month is a lot harder to justify than $5. I was pretty disappointed to find that the coverage on the AFL Live app was no longer freely available to Telstra customers, and I’m thinking it’s probably about time I started looking for a cheaper alternative to Telstra, too. _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |

When I went to take up the discount offer I found the mechanic,s of the set up difficult
Now I’m sure many had no problem but I’m a klutz when it comes to these matters
So I ponder my next move when we are not free to air _________________ I'm not arguing--just explaining why i am right |

I love Kayo now they have redone the broadcast rights.
All games in Kayo are Fox feed even ch 7 games so no ad breaks in qtrs. Plus love the 20 min Kayo minis of the AFL games. No point getting Foxtel if only using for sport. I am on the $15/m telstra deal for 12 months. _________________ Human behavioural studies suggest people who use a lot of swear words tend to be more honest & trustworthy. |

No xbox or Playstation app for Kayo is the only reason anyone stays on Foxtel for sports.
I fear they will never make an app for these 2 systems as these are by far the most popular ways people view content through a TV, and everyone will cancel Foxtel once those apps are available.
Chromecast - need another device to stream from
Apple TV - whos paying for that POS?
Samsung TV - If you can afford a recent Samsung TV u can afford the extra 10 dollars a month to get Foxtel
Android TV OS device - pretty rare and would need to be an enthusiast to own one
I have none of the above, but I have an Xbox + Playstation. so i wont switch till the console apps are available (hopefully it comes before your $5 a month plan ends...
P.S you where never actually getting AFL live for free..it was just added onto your overpriced Telstra bill for all customers |

My Telstra bill was not overpriced ($49 a month with 60 gig) and as i travel Australia early doors with another telco never always got coverage
With Telstra extremely better coverage
So the AFL live telecast was cream on top of a tasty pie
I have an alternative plan that doesn’t include Kayo _________________ I'm not arguing--just explaining why i am right |

I got the $15 plan for 2 screens and think it's great. $25 a month for 2 screens? Ripoff. |

We put Kayo on last night to see how it goes. We had some buffering issues throughout the game and also lost service near the end of the 3rd quarter and missed the break and 2 minutes of the last. If that is the worst I am happy to keep it. _________________ Cheers big ears |

That's not ideal. If you're paying for it, it should be almost flawless. |

had foxtel for years, mainly for its live sport. Overpriced and no choice but to have it packaged with other ad filled, repetitive garbage. Thank you kayo _________________ Formally frankiboy and FrankieGoesToCollingwood. |
