They deny it. Of course.
But they paid $500,000 to Mayfair, the company running a massive great Ponzi scam which has been on the front page of the financial press for weeks now. (You may remember that they bought Dunk Island a year or so ago, then had it taken back because they failed to front up with the money.)
Pauline signed off on the fact of the payment in a return to the electoral commission. Her Chief of Staff, serial arsehole and habitual liar James Ashby, says "No, no, they haven't lost any of their members' money" but point-blank refuses to (a) explain what the payment was for, or (b) provide any evidence, or even just a verbal assurance, that they have got any of the money back.
Looks as though the stupidest political party in Australia - yes, I know, that's quite an achievement in a country which also contains Clive Palmer and the NSW Nationals - has handed over a cool half million "investment" to a transparent scammer.
Couldn't have happened to a nicer mob.
