Pledged my full membership, but I respect anyone's decision to ask for a refund.
I haven't been totally impressed with the way the club has dealt with membership matters in recent times.

Gee wiz. What a surprise that the club would be giving self-serving yet erroneous advice...
One would think that they’re only in it for the money and that the whole side by side thing is just a clever marketing strategy.
Can’t imagine it though. My experience is that they’re absolutely committed to ensuring that all members’ needs are catered for and that they don’t rip away members’ entitlements without discussion and consultation.

We all note that you are an apologist for the club but that’s fine, that’s your consistently expressed position. Nobody picks you up on that because most people here appreciate that although we mightn’t agree with you, we respect your right to express your point of view.
Please afford others that same courtesy.

And they pledge to honour your consecutive years of membership and protect your reserve seating regardless of what option you select (with no asterisks or conditions which indicate that a request for 100% refund is excluded).

^ No, you didn't use arseholes. You just adopted serial crybabies as a denigrating comment instead.
We all have posters who's opinions we don't agree with, but we're not helping make the site an enjoyable place by name calling and getting tied up in the back and forth name calling and disputes.
The site is a better place with diversity of opinion, expressed respectfully and acknowledged respectfully.
As for the core topic, I think we agree, other clubs have done a better job of handling the membership refunds. Collingwood's disclosures are opaque (how much is the admin fee? - it's $35 at Richmond, there are seemingly no refunds offered toward next year or any material gifts - a signed jumper and the disclosures on entitlements at risk are also unclear)
