Finally got around to watching all the Copeland speeches tonight in peace and quiet. Well done to everyone and especially to Brayden Maynard who is fast becoming my new favourite player.
A special mention goes to a newly departed and recently departed player. Tyson Goldsack and Jarryd Blair both gave their all every time they took the field and will be forever remembered as premiership heroes in 2010. Both players were never going to be superstars and were often unfairly judged on this forum. But no one can question their commitment and selflessness towards the ultimate goal.
Not everyone is going to be a superstar. Not everyone is going to be your favourite. These two players epitomise what football is about. Mateship, hard work, courage and most of all being a team mate who your peers trust and respect. Those two had all those qualities and will be sorely missed. Good luck in the future to you both. |

Totally. the open hatred fro Blair over the years sickened me and didn't make sense since he was a good player. |

I'm a Blair fan and I miss the little guy. Terrific bloke and he punched above his weight. To the haters, he can point to his premiership medallion. |

Not to disrespect Blair, but he wasn't exactly instrumental in getting that medallion. And history is littered with examples of non premiership players being much better than those who have the medallion.
That said, love him, even though I was one who was frustrated with his lack of contribution in the last few seasons he played. I feel he was gifted games that weren't merit based.
But he won us a game against the Bumbers with a late goal that I fondly remember and always will.
He will go down as the best hobbit ever to play AFL |

I didnt think we'd see someone win a premiership medallion with less then 12 games to their name. Enter Marlion Pickett. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

Tony Shaw says hi! Scooter Francis too. Blair would have been a champion back in those days. |

Well if Mario Bortolotto has two premiership medallions, then I’m sure Blairy is deserving of at least one. |

St Kilda had a midget in Paul Callery who played in the 70's.
and we had Harris from Warnambool who was a short but talented rover. _________________ Don't confuse your current path with your final destination. Just because it's dark and stormy now doesn't meant that you aren't headed for glorious sunshine! |
