Gold Medal Game: Argentina Vs Spain
Bronze Medal Game: France Vs Australia
France knocks out the USA and then lose Argentina to get into the final. Unreal. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

15 points up in the third and lost.
Thats one of the biggest chokes you will ever see.
And Gaze called it when we were still up by 7 or 8.
To go though and get to the final 4 undefeated, only to lose to the eventual gold medal team in double OT and then the bronze match is just shocking.
Had we defeated the Spanish, we would have silver at worst. And the way Argentina played in the final, we could have had gold.
Andrew Bogut has a lot to answer for. He turned the whole crowd against us with his comment (although true), but it caused the crowds to support whoever we were playing. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

No he called the choke. He mentioned the body language of the boomers players. He was saying they are blowing the game even though still 8 or so points up. He mentioned the look of the French team and mentioned that Mills was injured and it feels like theyve almost given up.
We had a 15 point lead. Shocking, shocking result. And the rest of the world love it.
Mills would have been a chance for tournament MVP if we made the final game. Sadly we missed out and his Bronze medal game was a stinker (and he seemed to have been playing injured).
Ricky Rubio was awarded the MVP, which I found astounding after he was acting like a bitch throughout the games. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

"Although the men's national team failed to secure their first medal at a major international tournament earlier this month, a string of impressive results before and during the World Cup has seen them jump from 11th to third in FIBA's latest rankings."

"USA Basketball's hopes of rebounding quickly from their World Cup horror show have been given a welcome boost with Stephen Curry declaring he wants to make his Olympic Games debut at Tokyo in 2020.
...
The lack of star power on the latest installment of Team USA marked a low point in the country's basketball history as the defending champions' seventh-place result marked by far their worst finish in a tournament when it sent NBA players."

The US selection committee should really look at the players who just couldn't be arsed playing for the USA in the World Cup.
It should be an honour to play for your country. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

"... Andrew Bogut has until Wednesday to provide a statement to FIBA about his tirade against the governing body at the World Cup...
...
After being called for a contentious foul in the final term against Spain Bogut raised his arms and rubbed his fingers together, a gesture known to suggest money was required or changing hands.
Post game he walked through the media area and screamed out:
"We all know where FIBA’s headquarters is," Bogut said.
"It's a f------ disgrace. Cheating ass m--------ers.
"Google where headquarters of f------ FIBA is... f------ disgrace." "
