Mysterious. As a Laurel-seeker, you want the bass boosted as much as possible and the treble attenuated as much as possible. Try the frequency-shifted versions:
https://twitter.com/xxv/status/996462632998711297
Start with the version up 20%. If that doesn't work, go up to 30% and then 40%. (I advocate that order, because we want to know the minimum shifting required by your ears.)
For Yanny-seekers, go in the opposite direction.

haha, I just clicked on the original link, turned away and focussed on the word laurel and low and behold that's what I heard! I then replayed the clip and watched it and it was back to yanny! Bizarre! _________________ Formally frankiboy and FrankieGoesToCollingwood. |

Of course, those who want an extra challenge should try to swim against the tide e.g. try to hear Yanny in the frequency-shifted-up versions. |

I hear Yanny on the clip the OP provided but when I heard it for the first couple of times on a television show I heard both.
Not sure if what you hear has anything to do with whether the sound is produced through both speakers or just the left or right. _________________ He's mad. He's bad. He's MaynHARD! |

Every time I've heard it, it was laurel. Clear as a bell.

Come on, Stui, listen to the version linked above frequency-shifted 30% down, and try not to hear Yanny. You will surely fail. |

I did at my pre- employment medical in January. Perfect hearing for my age and I hear (mostly) YaMMy. Heard it clearly as laurel on the ellen show clip. _________________ Don't count the days, make the days count. |

OK, I did that.
Interesting on the Down 20 and 30 I finally heard Yammy. The rest are still Laurel. As they're supposed to be. https://www.wired.com/story/yanny-and-laurel-true-history/ _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

I am slowly driving my wife insane.
We have recently planted some trees called Portuguese Laurels, so every now and again I will talk about them and say Portuguese Yannies. When she mentions them I tell her off for calling them Portuguese Yannies instead of Portuguese Laurels, Ha ha _________________ How would Siri know when to answer "Hey Siri" unless it is listening in to everything you say? |
