I have always watched the Brownlow but this is the first time I didn't bother at all. I agree that it is boring and tedious. They drag the whole night out.
Congratulations to Dustin Martin. Has had a great year and possibly more rewards to come BUT
The AFL is a JOKE. No need to explain.
If I didn't love the my Pies so much and wasn't a masochist, I would dump the whole footy thing.
I feel like the AFL just manipulate everything to suit their objectives.

Midfielders' medal, hey. Howe not even in our top ten players this year, if you listen to the umpires. When it comes to the Brownlow, you're better off being an average midfielder than a gun defender! _________________ "Every time we witness an injustice and do not act, we train our character to be passive in its presence." – Julian Assange |

From AFL.com:
6. How did Danger miss out on three?
Just about everyone breathed a sigh of relief when Martin overtook Dangerfield in the final round to claim the medal as the highest-polling player. However, it shouldn't be forgotten that Dangerfield didn't receive any votes in round 22 against in the 11-point win against Collingwood. Consider these stats: 32 disposals, 12 clearances and two goals. It was a supreme performance and the AFL.com.au Brownlow predictor had him best on ground. Instead, the umpires gave three votes to Mitch Duncan, two to Sam Menegola and one to Magpie Taylor Adams. If Dangerfield picked up three, as he easily could have, he would have equalled Martin on 36. _________________ Est. 2002 |

What a farce
Dangerfield was BOG against us no doubts at all
Others surprises for mine
Pendles our highest vote getter ?
No offence to Pendles but he didn't have a stellar year
Grundy only 2 votes ?
In all seriousness this is a joke of the highest caliber shows big men aren't rated at all
Sidey 14 votes ?
Again no offence but shows how much the umpires have little to no understanding of how players actually perform in games
Howe no votes ? Really not a single vote ?
Overall our total votes was surprising I thought we received votes when we wouldn't have got them
Martin was the AFL's choice as the winner and they got there way |

The umps knew that Dangerfield was ineligible so they weren't going to give him the votes. _________________ How would Siri know when to answer "Hey Siri" unless it is listening in to everything you say? |

Now that's just about the funniest thing I've ever read.
You mean to say he's going to get more votes tonight than his previous 8 seasons combined ?
Mate stay off the jungle juice he won't make double digits tonight like he hasn't any other year |

P4S even you as his most biased supporter would have to acknowledge this is the worst Brownlow medal voting in living memory
Round 1 1 vote v Dogs we lose. Pendles was the best a field by a long way. You could name 6 dogs who were better than him in a winning side and at least 3 pies players
Round 3 2 votes v Sydney wow just wow. Adams Treloar Howe Schade Pendles were all far better (go check the GB voting he barely rated a mention)
Round 8 1 vote v GWS ok this is fair enough thought he played well that day and kept us in the hunt
Round 10 2 votes v Lions could have raffled the votes for us that day many players played well so he can have these 2 votes
Round 11 2 votes v Freo one of his better games of the season I had him in th votes
Round 12 3 votes v Dee's played well in this game was close to our best but Petracca was by far the best on field and his team won.
Bye now he has 11 votes
Round 17 3 votes v Suns could have gone to 3 or 4 players wearing black & white. He was good without being s match winner for sure
Overall I thought his second half of the season was better than his first half. So he only polled on after the bye yet in the AFL coaches votes he polled more after the bye than before. So who's right the coaches who actually understand the game or the umps who basically have nil idea about the game ??
I hope and pray the Copeland has more integrity than this years Brownlow.
Explain how Howe didn't muster 1 vote all year.
Grundy only 2 votes ?
14 votes was over IMO
On another positive story former Collingwood premiership player Copeland winner All Australian Dayne Beams polled 17 votes finishing in the top 10 again despite missing 7 games during the season !! |

What!? there's a brownlow..? and they actually give away a medal after 4 hours of pissing around. I thought it was all about the wags and what they're wearing. Seems to be that way. |

No need, young Swoop - I wasn't silly enough to suggest Adams wouldn't get 14 votes. |

I was following on the AFL webshite and up popped a question about the coverage. Basically told them if I wanted to see a sponsored fashion show I would seek a seperate website.
I was getting my 2010 GF tickets on Brownlow night at Crown and the players were bored shitless as the paparazzi hered the girls around. I spoke to several players and they were not amused. Most just wanted to get in and have a drink.
Next they will have kids and babies.
I hope the new management at 10 make a serious play for the rights but then they will probably do the same thing. _________________ Annoying opposition supporters since 1967. |
