Questions re: Silvagni.
1. Why has he only played 53 games in seven seasons?
2. Why did he play only 5 games this season?
3. Why has he only played 7 games over the past 2 seasons?
4. Is there a reoccurring injury there? Or has he been consistently dropped and kept out of the side?
5. What has his WAFL form been like?
Positives:
*192cm
*Stop type defender. (Full Back if you will)
*Would not be on a huge wage.
Negatives:
29 years old.
Lack of AFL experience.
In not totally against this, as his inclusion would be for depth reasons only. I do however, think there are better options out there. But it could be a cap issue there. Either way, lets explore all options. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

My guess is knowing our lack of key defenders, a lot of player managers will be having discussions with Collingwood regarding their clients with regard to relocating to Holdern centre. I think it may work in our favour over the next couple of days where we can sift through a choice of 3-4 defenders available and carefully weigh up who best suits our needs. |

Silvagni was a constant first 22, in everyone's SC and Fantasy teams...then Ross The Boss came in and didn't play him. _________________ Est. 2002 |

We have Pendles, and arguably Treloar who are better than Lewis.
He would have walked into our best 22 like he owned the joint.
We now have Melbourne almost a certainty for the final eight in 2017.
A midfield comprising Jones, Vince, Brayshaw, Viney, Petracca and now Lewis, concerns me greatly. Did I miss anyone?
Need I remind you Melbourne beat us twice in 2016, comfortably. _________________ M I L L A N E 4 2 forever |

Bit of mail around now Essendon have asked for a meeting with the Suns to see if they can strike a deal to send pick 1 to Suns for O'Meara
Suns aren't happy still that Hawks aren't budging on picks 10 & 21
Expect Suns to have the meeting even if it's only to push Hawks more.
Essendon have the inside running as if he goes to PSD they get him for nil.
Wouldn't it be lovely to see O'Meara not at the Hawks I would laugh my head off |

Cam McCarthy (-2 DVI pts!)
Sam Mitchell (46 DVI pts, so ~pick 69)
Paul Ahern [injured] (pick 69)
Jordan Lewis (141 DVI pts, so ~pick 60/61)
Jack Steele (future 2nd, so 502-948 DVI pts)
Tom Mitchell (1,225 DVI pts, so ~pick 13)
Pearce Hanley (complicated as 3-way and future pick involved, but ~pick 8-10)
I'm a little surprised Pearce Hanley seems to have fetched more than Tom Mitchell.
I think St Kilda have made off like bandits with the Hawthorn pick swap and Jack Steele.
If McCarthy ends up playing to his potential then Freo have done very well too (much better than the 2 x first rounders they offered year ago). |
Having watched the Grand Final, I'm surprised anyone wanted Mitchell, at all. |

O'Meara just has to say he refuses to go to Essendon and that's the end of the story. Suns either get pick 10 and 21 to recruit players with, or they have an unhappy player on their books next year, who ends up at the club of his choice at the end of 2017, with less return to the Suns. Force the player into the PSD he will put a high price on his head which Essendon will reluctantly pay not knowing how committed the player will be next year. Better to release the player to Hawks by Friday or face the consequences. Don't see the point of laughing at the Hawks if it doesn't work out. Good luck to them I say. How would you have liked it last year if Treloar had been traded to Richmond because GWS refused to trade with us? Some double standards here. |

Not double standards just laughing at the Hawks not getting everything there own way. I understand your point but don't forget we could have landed Treloar for a lot less had Richmond kept there noses out of our deal.
O'Meara will land at the Hawks but I want to see them pay overs to get him is all. 10-21 & a player sounds fair to me. Why should O'Meara be valued less than Trelaor when the experts basically saying his the best young player in the comp ? Make them bleed more I say
The more they give now the less they have later |

If you want Hawthorn to pay more than pick 10 & 21 for O'Meara, then that's fine. I agree let them sweat a bit more and add a player or two into the mix as well before the Suns release him. But it would be a travesty for Essendon to land O'Meara after hawthorn has done all the groundwork. O'Meara ending up at Essendon would be worse than him going to Hawthorn in my view. |
