Seems an improved effort on last week. Still can't kick for goal. |
Just on this, his three missed shots (actually he had four but one has been credited as a rushed behind) were from a 45m set-shot from the boundary on his wrong side, a long range bomb from outside 50 and a one step snap from his own crumbing work. On the flip side, the goal was a cheapish one working back to goal after a long kick cleared the pack.
So, while the goal/behind numbers aren't overwhelmingly pretty, he wasn't 'Clokeing' regulation set-shots... |

We just got thrashed by a team with a main forward who kicked 3 goals, 6 behinds. Just saying. |

Yep, I'd be happy with that. Moore clearly not up to carrying the No1 forward role at this stage of his development. |

I see the inevitable rumour of a move to Richmond has started.
Rance or Riewoldt? Or Dusty to replace a retiring Swan?
(No, I don't believe it will really happen). |

Cloke for Martin, done deal.
Swanny would then play on for at least one more year just to play with one of his mates too.
(And yes I don't believe Cloke will end up at Richmond either). |

Certainly a possibility although Cloke likely to be gifted 1 more VFL game, Moore 1 more senior game. |

So, what you're saying is, is that Moore is a hack who is being gifted games in the seniors...? |

Stats are fairly meaningless without any context with which to interpret them. I went to this game and it looked like Cloke was getting his hands on the ball quite a bit. He might need one more run in the VFL before a recall to the AFL. Given we play Carlton it may be of similar benefit to play him against them. Weitering is good but not that good yet plus he might miss due to the knock he sustained. _________________ Power Without Glory |

I'd agree with that but what's the odds that Jameson gets recalled to play on Cloke if we play him in the seniors? If the umpires are as friendly toward Carlton as they were at the VFL it could be a dirty day.
Even though Moore could probably do with a rest, I'd play all of Cloke, Moore and Cox against Carlton. Moore and Cox the two tall forwards and Cloke up high, rotating with Moore. Put a leg rope on Cox and don't let him go more than 30m from goal unless he's playing ruck. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |
