This is history in the making up in Sydney – if the Roos hold on, they'll be the first 8th placed team to make a preliminary final in the history of the game.

North 9.9.63
Sydney 6.8.44
14 minutes into last quarter.

Where would they have finished had they beaten Richmond in round 23?

Resting players looks like it worked pretty well for them.

7th, above Adelaide. Though it's possible Richmond's win kind of took the wind out of the Crows' sails once it became likely that they wouldn't get a home final. So, impossible to know for sure.

Breust is the biggest downhill skier. Only plays well when the team plays well. Same with Isaac Smith.

Both will be mediocre in a few years when Hawthorn are shit again.

A bit bitter are we?? To remain at the top or thereabouts for a significant period is difficult. You were a bounce from losing the unthinkable in 2010 and an arsey snap in the preliminary final of 2011, only to be a no show when it mattered in the final quarter the following week.

Show respect to teams who follow up year after year. Cats 2004 to 2013 huge respect... Three flags, many prelims and finals.

Your mob haven't produced a thing. Breust kicked his goals when the heat was on. Smith produced when the heat was on also. I've said it time and time again, anyone that has the balls to bag this club is an idiot. 5 prelims on the trot in the modern era!!

KOLOKOTRONIS

This is what you get over in Big Footy from the Hawthorn school of arrogance. No mention of course of their "arsey" win over Port last year thanks to their good mate Stevic and their "arsey" loss to Sydney in 2012!

Make love elsewhere Hawthorn! I just hope your supporters get what they deserve in two weeks...
