Who would you pick now in 2015?
Wellers or his replacement in Grundy?
I think most clubs would pick the Grundog! _________________ we don't eat our own at collingwood we just allow them to foul our nest. |

Wellingham is the biggest loss from the 2010/2011 midfield - he is the one who had very adept ball-handling, coupled with explosive pace over the first couple of steps from congestion. I'm not suggesting that he is a better footballer than the ones we kept but he certainly had that speed that the others lack.
His 75 metre goal against the Kangaroos today was OK, too.
Still, sliding doors - we need a ruckman more, as thompsoc said. |

O dear not another wishful retrospective
He's been gone for years, I'm pleased for him he's playing well for his new club but he didn't leave on good terms so I'm certainly not shedding a tear.
We did bloody well out of that trade. |

O what absolute tripe! You know very well the best mid we lost was Thomas, look at the numbers, look at the BOGs, look at the big games, Look at the awards. Ross Lyon called him the best player in the game, Lethal said he was among the best.
He won't be coming back and he's having a shit time at Carlton, he hates it, but at least be real! _________________ "If at first you dont succeed...

he has struggled during his time there but is starting to string some performances together. hardly been a symbol of consistency but we all know the talent he has. _________________ Purveyor of sanctimonious twaddle. |

Did he play his one good game this year?
Typical Sharrod, one big game about every 6 weeks, was the same when he was with us. |

Geezus Christ, just because we haven't played yet this weekend it's like we've had a loss. Everyone is out with the doom and gloom what if threads. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

Spot on matty, best game for the year and they still lost. Playing more off the half back and looks to have found some courage (if the scarecrow in Wizard of Oz can do it, so can Sharrod)
Still, would not get a game in the midfield even with our depleted numbers.
I liked him, but we have won this deal with pick 18. |

We have a fair few players of the size and capability of Sharrod but Brodie is pretty unique in what he offers to the team. A classic case of the benefits in trading a guy when he still has currency was this deal. _________________ woodsmen rule |

I think we would still have had Grundy if we'd not traded Wellingham, but would have been missing one of Kennedy or Broomhead.
He was a definite loss to our team which contributed to our decline over the last few years. Maybe we'll end up in front maybe not, it's too early to tell. Whether we do or don't though, the deal still made sense given we were heading for a rebuild. _________________ Well done boys!

I don't think it was just about footballing ability either. I got the impression at the time it was about the party culture and issues around it that Sharrod was indulging in as part of the premiership aftermath. _________________ woodsmen rule |
