Tonight we have the hostages on show and the media in full swing to win the night not only with $$ but with Production.
Will you watch? I won't, good luck to them getting some dollars but 2 people are dead and they are on only on TV because of money. |

I'm having a look at it on 7. I heard the camera man on MMM during the week talking about how he was allowed to stay and film with a direct view into the cafe, the cops tapped into the feed and had a sniper beside him for the whole time. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

How much does a TV cost? If I had a TV (which I don't) I'd spend whatever it costs to buy a TV set if that's how much I had to spend to not watch either of them, but as I don't have a TV I might have to buy one anyway just so that I can have the satisfaction of not switching the TV set on tonight, and maybe buy a second set so I can switch the other TV over to some other TV channel and not watch it either. _________________ Let's eat Grandma. Commas save lives! |

The depths that they will go to.
Disgusting, wrong on so many levels.
The mock whispered ads are such a joke. Gotta sell that drama.

I think the police erred a little in not being ready to storm the exit points after the first hostages escaped.
When that third lot of hostages escaped it would have been an opportune time to storm mad Manis from another entrance point when his attention was diverted. _________________ He's mad. He's bad. He's MaynHARD! |

Hind sight is always 20/20 he had 2 women in the back room, they could both be dead now. _________________ You cant fix stupid, turns out you cant quarantine it either! |

Not 20/20, policy is wrong. This was a terrorist attack, bit it lone wolf or whacko. The army should have been in control, that is what they are trained to do. |

It takes a long time to bring in the highly trained SAS specialists when Abbott has sent them away to Iraq. _________________ Let's eat Grandma. Commas save lives! |

No.
Counter-terrorism and special recovery
One of the primary roles of the regiment is to provide a counter-terrorist capability, with an element of the SASR forming Australia's domestic Tactical Assault Group (West), while the 2nd Commando Regiment provides Tactical Assault Group (East). TAG West maintains a short-notice capability to conduct military operations beyond the scope of state and federal police tactical groups. Offensive counter-terrorist operations may include direct action and hostage recovery. A capability to board ships whilst underway and off-shore oil platforms is also maintained. The TAG is kept at high readiness for a period of 12 months, before being replaced by another squadron in this role.
The size of the SASR is classified and its reported strength varies, with figures of between 500 to 700 personnel appearing in different sources. _________________ Don't count the days, make the days count. |
