Nobody seems to be talking about Geelong's second rounder. That's probably what they'll give Melb for Clark, and Melb would probably want to use that on H. So looking at more like 30 something, not 22. |

Pick 22 sounds like will be given to us from Melbourne for Lumumba.
So we give beams and dp 22 to brisbane for pick 4 and Redden.
We then trade pick 4 to sydney for tom mitchell and their 3rd round pick.
We then grab Higgins for nothing via free ageny.
So we loose beams and lumumba and gain mitchell, redden and higgins.
If nothing else it gives us some experienced players with good foot skills |
Counter argument is that Beams is worth P4 & Redden anyway, why would we then sweeten the deal so significantly by adding 22. |

Because brisbane are so arrogant that they wont want to let redden go. Just to get the deal done. _________________ Riding every bump since 1990 |

Random thought.... tbh I haven't seen this guy play much but Merrett wants to move? Would help our backline inexperience or am I muppet for even thinking that? _________________ Side By Side Forever |

Exactly the thinking I'd hate the club to carry into these negotiations. They don't want to play then we'll just take our footy and go home. Beams can play at the Pies in 2015. |

About to turn 30, doesn't match our profile and shouldn't be considered in the Beams deal. Not a bad option for a late pick but hate to see a player like him limiting senior exposure for Frost and Keeffe. |

Cheers Jack. Wasn't sure. Seems an odd move for him at that stage of his career. Unless you're elite damn hard to find a place at another club. _________________ Side By Side Forever |

This is honestly what the club should do in regards to a trade for Dayne Beams. The solution is simple. We let Brisbane know our expectations ASAP and leave the ball in their court. If they are unable to satisfy us with an equitable trade we keep Beams and let him know that we did offer many outcomes for him to be traded directly to Brisbane but they just didn't come to the party.
The idea:
Tell Brisbane that we are after one of the following deals for Dayne and that we will NOT be engaging in further talks with them until they have agreed to one. If one is not reached then Dayne stays in the black and white until next season. We literally tell them to contact us when they have an answer for us. No bullcrap in-between.
Proposed Deals
1. Straight trade for Tom Rockliff
2. Pick 4 and James Aish
3. Pick 4 and Pearce Hanley
4. Pick 4 and Sam Mayes
5. Pick 4 and Jack Redden
6. Pick 4 and Daniel Rich
7. Pick 4 and Lewis Taylor
8. Pick 4 and Dayne Zorko
9. Pick 4, 24 and they acquire another draft pick below 20 to give to us. |

I reckon pick 4 is unders for sure
Pick 4 & an Aish or Mayes or Redden is a little overs IMO.
Throwing in a 2nd or 3rd rounder might get it closer to working. |

I agree.
And i'll take option 6, assuming full recovery.
That left leg is a flood killer. |

Pendlebury, Swan, Broomhead, Adams, Sidebottom & Rich make for a handy midfield.
Just for a moment, think of adding Dangerfield to this
I know, it'll never happen |

With Patful wanting to head to Sydney how about this arrangement.
Patful to GWS Jono Rourke to Lions.
Beams to Lions pick 5 (after Melbourne's compensation pick for Frawley) and Rourke to magpies
Still leaves us with pick 9 for Moore
Maybe the best we can get if they don't want to let any of there current list go. |

Rourke has done not much more than pick 5 has at this stage
Btw if they don't want to let any of the current list go(when did they all become stars???)
Then the best we can do is....Dayne Beams! |
