Give us for once, a good run with injuries, and our kids improving further, our senior guys being more consistent, and I reckon in a rebuilding process, 6th or 7th spot is very possible. I also expect old teams, much older than us, like dads army cats, swans and hawks, to start to at long last go down south on the ladder. Tonight will see the end of the cats dynasty at last, should they go down to the younger Roos, then it will be the swans and dawks turn, time and age are the big enemies of these older teams. We are the direct opposite, with one of the youngest, most inexperienced lists in the League.! _________________ Poverty exists not because we cannot feed the poor, but because we cannot satisfy the rich.

Won't win more than 10 games, probably around 8 games I'd say
And all manner of Robbo's, Ralphys et al to start circling - then it's going to be whether the club thinks 2016 was the year after all

will be hard to make top 4, just like this year. 4 to 12 not much in it, next year 2 to 14. luck of the draw and to early to make a call. _________________ B.U.M.S ROCK...That's Ballarat United Magpies Supporters.....Long trip but even longer hangovers! |

Are there any certainty's in footy or life?
Most likely we will finish in the middle tier - 7-12 - top tier (1-6) would be fantastic for 2015 and is possible if we get some luck with injuries and confidence early on... of course bottom tier (13-18) is also possible given our form late in the year and our inability especially to stop blow-outs! _________________ Love us or Hate us... we are Collingwood - you can't ignore the Mighty Magpies!!! |

Some smart recruiting with a couple more top 10 picks, another pre-season into your Grundys, Witts, Kennedys, Broomheads, Freemans etc, a full list up and about.

All of the reasons and excuses given for our poor second half to 2014 are only exasperated coming into 2015.
We will go in with less experience.
We will go in with an incredibly-shallow leadership group.
The following players carry significant injury histories and are no guarantee to play any football, let alone play consistently:
Clinton Young (hamstrings)
Ben Reid (every muscle in his body apparently)
Nathan Brown (numerous shoulder operations)
Nathan Freeman (hamstrings)
Ben Sinclair (hamstrings)
Alex Fasolo (feet)
Brent McCaffer (ACL)
Matthew Scharenberg (ACL)
Should we get Mitch Clark, you can add his feet and mental issues to the list.
For a number of reasons, Collingwood has failed in its attempt to have a 'mini-rebuild' while contending in finals (like your Geelongs and Hawthorns have successfully done) and now must commit to going through the slow, painful process of a proper long-term plan.
Bucks has said we will emerge in a premiership race with the Bulldogs, GWS and Gold Coast. Take a look at the respective young talent and high draft picks in our list compared to those clubs and you'll get an idea of the future ahead of us.
Expectations need to go down in 2015 chaps. I have us finishing 14th. If we make the finals, I'll happily jump in the Yarra.
The club will do a good job of controlling the narrative of another disappointing season and Buckley will comfortably keep his job. |

Please, there're children in here and that could make people from both sides of the fence cry... although obviously for different reasons. _________________ All Aboard!! Choo Choo!!! |

Buckley is kidding himself if he thinks we have anybody with as much potential as Bontempelli (who will be the next Carey), or have a future list as good as the Suns or GWS. Just watch how St Kilda improves in the next few years as a REAL development coach in Alan Richardson starts to weave his magic.
When Richardson left Collingwood the development of our kids stopped to a walk. It wasn't helped when Browny left as well. _________________ Rain or hail, I wag my tail |
