A win this week would be a huge upset and would probably be the best win since the grand final.
Make no mistake we are massive underdogs, it's essentially a vfl side playing the flag favourite. If by some miracle we do win makes the swans game against Richmond meaningless for them, Richmond could upset if we win.
First time in probably 3 months that I'm actualy excited about a game. We've got nothing to lose.
I've seen many movies, but can it be done in real life?

This game most likely get very Ugly.
We could quiet easily lose by 100+ Pts.

Percentage doesn't mean jack IF we beat Hawthorn and Sydney beat Richmond. Any other result though and our horrible percentage will rear its head and bite us on the arse.
Of course if you scrape into the finals on percentage an embarrassing defeat in week one is likely. |

Best possible result is that we pull off a miracle and beat Hawthorn, while Richmond beat Sydney. Beating Hawthorn with a reserves side would make this a wonderful, memorable year, and set our youngsters up for a great start to 2015. Getting smashed out of the finals - and this is inevitable should we somehow fall into 8th - would not be nice, nor would it be good for us. This is our Grand Final. Let's win it.
Meanwhile, the stark reality is that Richmond deserves to play finals. We don't. _________________ Let's eat Grandma. Commas save lives! |

What is does will show who really cares of players available. We are missing 19 at last counts including Maxy.
If Buckley can coach. It doesnt matter if we loose for me but how we play.
I would like to see attack and quick movement forward.
Bring in the big K, Martin and give Clarke a farewell game would have liked to see Marsh in team, I think he will be really good and kick long and to open positions.
if there are to be handballs again long and to advantage.
We need at least 3 forwards who should stay permanently in forward line.
1 tall, I med, 1 in and under type. I would have Witts float between ruck and Centre half back and Centre Half Forward and the same with Grundy.
The are being caught out together.
Bring Williams and Sinclair onto the wings.
Langdon and Harry & Tooves as half back flankers
Keefe and Frost down back.
Load up the centre Pendles, Thomas, Blair, Ball.
Goldsack and one more as Utility types. |

Regardless of whether they beat us or not Hawthorn will be playing Geelong week one of the finals.
They will be focussed on that. We will win.
Sydney will not relent and will want to take momentum into the finals. Richmond are due for a loss and in many ways were lucky tonight against a pathetic St Kilda. Sydney will beat Richmond.

Realistically I can't see us winning this one with so many players out of the side, but I really hope the boys do us proud regardless of the final result. We need something to get excited about heading into next year. Our last quarter performance against GWS will certainly lift the spirits of the playing group.
I have no expectations for this game but if we win somehow win on Friday night then I'd argue that this would be one of our greatest victories in the 21st century for our club alongside the Grand Final in 2010 due to the opponent we're playing and with the number of exclusions we will have for this game. Simply if we win this, we deserve to play finals one way or another.
Will an upset occur? Very unlikely, but not impossible. _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023 | |

I love the optimism in this thread, but realistically I just can't see how this can go any other way than a 15 goal + loss. The only thing going for us is that we have absolutely nothing to lose. Somehow, that's exciting. _________________ "Every time we witness an injustice and do not act, we train our character to be passive in its presence." – Julian Assange |
