Good story, but there's one that kind of stands out - bloke picked at #58, came top three in the last 4 Brownlows and won one, from memory.... _________________ Two more flags before I die! |

That's our current first round draft picks. And quite a depressing journey through the early '00s drafting it was too. Amazing how well our later picks/rookies/trades have done, and equally amazing how bad our recruiting was for a while. |
PENDLES at 5, and wholly crap, grundy at 18!!!!

Not quite - he won three but two of them were given to other players by mistake. |

From memory, I believe he was. |
Pick 27 2009 rookie draft. Hard to believe he debuted in round 14 2010 |

I think what we've proven is: take the guys with tats late, because teams will pass them over early.
Swan (how many tats did he have when we drafted him though?)
Beams
Elliott (can't remember where GWS actually took him (was he pre-listed?), but this kid is a ripper - though we could have had Brad Hill had we kept pick 25 (: _________________ Well done boys! |

You could probably put Billy in there as we traded pick 25 to GWS for him and they threw in marty as well.
Look at the 2012 draft. Grundy doing well, Kennedy had a good few games and Broomhead yet to be sighted. In the same draft, Frost, Oxley, Dwyer, Hudson and martin were all rookied and all except Hudson (who was a short term decision) all look like being long term players. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

Well, kind of... one was given to another player in 2010 for what we can only presume to be AFL tribunal engineered gambling fraud. Don't know where the actual "mistake" was.
