Post subject: Wills and Healy for depth | |
|
What do you think about adding D.Healy from the saints....tallish classy midfielder although injury prone and A.Wills from freo who can turn a match upside down in ten minutes kicking a few quick goals...S.Bruer is a good player 2...the magpies lack a bot of height around the packs and depth isnt our strong point..add hopefully C.Johnson from the Lions as an uncontracted player. |

sounds pretty good. not sure about wills though, if he was rejected by freo then he mustn't be worth much. |

Wills is an over rated hack but Bruer would be a reasonable pick up,especially as he has strength in packs and can take a good player out of the game. I was really surprised that PA got rid of him. I think Wills has had his best days already and while it would be good to have some more depth I wouldn't want to achieve it using players past their prime. We have done that in the past...picked up players to make the lsit who are past their best or just not up to it. |

Breuer is definitely out, although he said he felt he had more to offer over the next 2 or 3 seasons he said he wont be nominating for the draft as he wants to stay in Adelaide for family reasons. |

Foxy, how could you rate players rejected by freo as "not worth much".
What about Winston Abrahams, Byron Pickett, Gary Durkkay (maybe) and perhaps even Jeff White, just to name a few. |

They tried everything to keep Jeff White, Winnie is ok, Dhurrkay is ordinary and Byron Pickett was never even at Freo.
Yeah there are some good players that get rejected by Freo (Peter Bell) but thats only because they are such a terrible club and dont really know what they're doing.
And we should only draft young players in next weeks draft. We've got no use for guys like Wills or Allison. |

Wills - no way past it.
Breuer - no way.
Healy - vague maybe in preseason.
freo have let a lot of reasonable players go, or jumped ship. Chisholm is a handy player, Ambrahams damgaing, Durrhy is yet to deliver only played a few good games, but has talent, (could be a player who is gamaging at a lower level but unable to find the time and space at top level ) Bell would be close to the best rover going around. ( he proablay suffered from the early docker style, as they almost never kicked to a contest, no crumbs, no ugly packs and therefore less chances for an in and under, crumber ) White still a promising ruckman, should take th estep and be one of the better rucks this year.

still reckon Wills would grab a spot on the bench and bang in a few goals when needed.Have to change from losers mentality of having honest at it team ..to a skilled at it team.Healy is worth the punt in the last few picks this Sunday. |

Tony Shaw (remember him) was on c7 Monday evening. He believes that both Allison and Wills could get picked up on one year contracts. If this were to happen it is more likely they would go to a higher ranked club.
Kevin Sheehan was also on talking about the draft. They showed highlights of Josh Fraser. He is suprisingly agile. Sheehan said he was the most outstanding 17 yo since Wayne Carey.
Spriggs was also interviewed and has xery impressive credentials.
Sheehan ranked his top 10 draft picks. If they frll the way he ranked them No. 7 would be Fiora (sp?) a speedy left footer from Port Adelaide Magpies. |
