The words to that effect were uttered by Bucks in the changerooms post our exit from last years finals. And once again we're starting the season with up to 8 first choice players sidelined.
As most of you are aware I'm one of the biggest Buckley's fans around and once almost had a heart attack when the great man interrupted his conversation on the phone to shake my hand in the late 90's but the question has to be asked - is he pushing the boys too hard?
No doubt luck plays a massive part in injuries but I refuse to believe our problems are solely due to that. |

Lets break it down (pardon the pun):
Reid - knock to the knee is a praccy match
Thomas - had an operation on an injury sustained last year
Goldsack - operation from injury last year
Keeffe - knee reco from last year
Ball - knee reco from last year
Broomhead - glandular fever
Didak - has been breaking down every year and getting old
Gault - shoulder so not a soft tissue
Grundy - back.
Perhaps it is hard to blame the coach would you agree?
Perhaps a little homework on your part would have been helpful? _________________ "You must be a parking ticket, cuz you got fine written all over you" Glen Quagmire |

^ Now that couldn't be any clearer! level headed supporters that post are much appreciated! Hopefully we will start to see many of them come back in the next month! No doubt if we need to apply that forward press week after week our boys need to be fit! |

Pebbles Rocks is right. Probably the last sentence was a bit harsh.
I think Daisy & Goldy should have been handled better though. If they were operated on straight away then they would both be fit & jumping out of their skin to play round 1. This was our medicals staff's decision though not Bucks.
Other than that we are still being careful with recovery from last years injuries & probably rightly so. |

Yeah I think it's all good. Provided no more injuries by round 3 we'll all be happy campers, with selection dilemmas. _________________ No Pressure, No Diamonds

Beast pebbles rock beat me to it,also footy is a contact sport, and most injuries are down to the luck of the draw. |

The Ball injury was mis-management. He hurt his knee early and was put back on for some reason. It's may have contributed to a full tear and surgery.
The other injuries are just luck. Hawks are suffering this year when they had a gift run for most of 2012 _________________ Fighting against the objectification of woman. |

add Seedsman and Young to that list.
Don't know if you can blame the club...but either way I think something went wrong in the preparation because we were flying only a few weeks ago. _________________ There's more to life than footy.........just not much more. |

Knowing that Didak's body is fragile means it should be managed more sensibly.
Grundy was flying at the start of preseason and everyone was commending him on being a hard trainer instead of reigning him in and now he has stress fractures in his back.
All of Ball's Thomas' and Goldsack injuries could have been managed better too.
You also forget to mention that Seedsman, Young and Fasolo all have soft tissue injuries and Ramsay has a groin injury.
So maybe you're the one that should be doing his homework instead of trying to come across as a know it all and failing miserably

Once again you're being the voice of reason.
The reason I mention Bucks is cause he oversees everything, I could have easily gone with Buttifant.
Something did go wrong because right now our list resembles a hospital ward and the ball is yet to be kicked in anger.
Second year in a row we're entering the comp in this condition while all the other sides have 2/3 best 22 players injured at the very most.
To blame it on pure bad luck is a folly. |

Great post, with the interchange being overhauled having players with larger endurance will be of benefit not a millstone. _________________ Up the Mighty Mags 2016. |

I usually agree with a lot of what you have to say Beast but not on this, last year we lost 17/22 last quarters the team clearly was behind fitness wise.
Didak needs the fitness base he isn't the type of player who can get away with being half fit, his body is obviously failing him sign to retire end of season imo.
Grundy was barely at the club 3 weeks when his back went.
Ramsey almost appeared to have started at the club injured as he has been MIA ALL pre season from the outset.
Seedsman bad luck.
Young came to the club requiring surgery maybe he came back from limited PS to early. _________________ Up the Mighty Mags 2016. |

Bump, unfortunately.
Bucks has already admitted they pushed Beams too hard and that led to bleeding in his calf, now Daisy is reportedly having troubles with the foot thats been operated on.
I'm aware he was eager to play for awhile but isn't our medical stuff supposed to make this call. Bad luck or not its indisputable they've been erring quite often of late.
And before I get attacked by my adoring fans, I'm not blaming Bucks but someone has to be held accountable for this nightmare.
Thats if we're interested in not seeing the repeat of it next year...... |

This has been a terrible season for injuries right across the AFL. Overtraining has to be part of it. The body is breaking down because it is not meant to endure so much stress. Unless of course you take a little something to help with your recovery. Dank did say today that there are more clubs involved. Not us obviously! |
