I assume Jett and Ayce are already on long term contracts? And what's this heresy about a Daicos supporting Carltun? Just as well he snapped out of that! Actually I have a vague idea that the marvel himself was a scum supporter as a ruggy, nest pas? The great man is a pie to the core now though, witness his call at the end of the '02 prelim (below)
And lord who could forget Rod the Rocket Oborne! Wore no.8, there was a famous shot of him landing upside down after a mark, looked like his neck was broken (but it was the ball). He was a fabulous player on his day, mind you his kids should be 50 by now! Musta had em late!
Finally, Ned's kids won't need to be guns, they'll have awesome management! _________________ "If at first you dont succeed...

If Travis Cloke ever has a son, I'm not sure i'd want him...especially if his grand father was his manager. |

No Daics supported the swans when he was a kid. Around the mid 80's he was seriously contemplating joining south melbourne. _________________ May the seeds of hope bloom into the eurphoria of success. Go Pies |

I always got what you were saying... I just thought I would wait for someone else to say it...
1958-Ken Turner played for us... Premiers.
1990-Jamie Turner played for us... Premiers.
I see a bit of a pattern developing... |

I thought it might be of interest to post the actual "father son" rule (extracted from the AFL Player Rules updated 20 September 2010 - refer to http://aflpa.com.au/sites/all/files/AFL%20Player%20Rules%20-%20September%202010.pdf):
"4.2 Father/Son Rule
4.2.1 Players Eligible – All Clubs
Subject to Rule 4.2.4, a Club may include a person on its Primary List if the person’s father played 100 or more Senior Matches (being either Home and Away or Finals Series Matches) with the Club.
4.2.2 Western Australian and South Australian Based Clubs
In addition to the rights conveyed under Rule 4.2.1;
(a) The West Coast Eagles Football Club may include a person on its Primary List if that person’s father played 150 Senior Matches (being either home and away or finals series matches) at one of the following clubs prior to, but not including, 1987:
(i) Claremont Football Club;
(ii) East Perth Football Club;
(iii) West Perth Football Club; or
(iv) Subiaco Football Club.
(b) The Fremantle Football Club may include a person on its Primary List if that person’s father played 150 or more Senior Matches (being either home and away or finals series matches) at one of the following clubs prior to, but not including, 1995:
(i) South Fremantle Football Club;
(ii) East Fremantle Football Club;
(iii) Perth Football Club; or
(iv) Swan Districts Football Club.
(c) The Adelaide Football Club may include a person on its Primary List if that person’s father played 200 or more Senior Matches (being either home and away or finals series matches) at one of the following clubs prior to but not including, 1991:
(i) Norwood Football Club;
(ii) Glenelg Football Club;
(iii) Sturt Football Club; or
(iv) South Adelaide Football Club.
(d) The Port Adelaide Football Club may include a person on its Primary List if that person’s father played 200 or more Senior Matches (being either home and away or finals series matches) at one of the following clubs prior to, but not including, 1997:
(i) Port Magpies Football Club;
(ii) Woodville Football Club;
(iii) West Torrens Football Club;
(iv) North Adelaide Football Club;
(iv) Central Districts Football Club; or
(v) West Adelaide Football Club.
(e) This Rule 4.2.2 is subject to Rule 4.2.4.
4.2.3 NSW and Queensland Based Clubs
(a) A person is eligible to be included on the Primary List of:
(i) the Sydney Swans if his father satisfies the criteria under Rule 4.2.1 by playing for the South Melbourne Football Club (as it was then known); or
(ii) the Brisbane Lions if his father satisfies the criteria under Rule 4.2.1 by playing for the Fitzroy Football Club (as it was then known).
4.2.4 No Prior Registration
A person cannot be included on a Club’s Primary List under Rules 4.2.1, 4.2.2 or 4.2.3 if he has at any time been registered with the AFL as a Player with any Club."
To keep the post manageable, I have not set out the document lodgement requirements (clause 4.2.5), the procedure for resolving competing claims by 2 clubs which are both eligible to list a player under the Rule (clause 4.2.6), the draft "bidding" process (clause 4.2.7) or the associated restriction on trading away the draft selection required to nominate under clause 4.2.7 (clause 4.2.8 ) - all of those can be found at the url specified above.
So far as I can ascertain, the term "father" is not defined in the AFL Player Rules, so I suppose it takes its ordinary meaning (whatever that is).
Generally speaking, the eligibility rule will be relatively straight-forward in its application to Collingwood (see rules 4.2.1 and 4.2.4) but I have included the modifications of the rule for the interstate clubs for completeness. In short, players whose fathers played 100 games for Collingwood are eligible to be listed.
Although it is not matter of great interest now, Rule 4.2.4 would have prevented Richmond from listing Travis (or Jason or Cameron) Cloke under rule 4.2.1 this year, because he had previously been registered with the AFL as a Player with Collingwood. |

Thanks.
Does anyone know what has happened to Elijah Edwards (mentioned on your list as a 2013 draft eligible) and how he is progressing? He was announced as a Collingwood NSW scholarship player to much fanfare on the official site and the film footage of him in the underage comp was quite impressive. Since then, there has been nothing from the Club. |

Apparently - according to Emma Quayle, Collingwood may try to take James Stewart as a 17 year old in a deal involving the GWS's concessional ability to land 17 year olds. James is being touted as a potential first-round pick, if he goes in the following draft. See:
