I’m bored, so what the hell. Vote now for your favourite VPT thread of the last financial year!

The nominations (in no particular order):

Australian bird of the year

https://www.magpies.net/nick/bb/viewtopic.php?t=86806

In which the members of the VPT (unfortunately without the participation and guiding hand of seasoned birdwatcher Tannin) officially lose their minds over their favourite feathered friends. Sad!

The "official Nick’s BB" Trump impeachment thread

https://www.magpies.net/nick/bb/viewtopic.php?t=86786

Wade into this one at your own peril, but it’s the VPT political dust-up at its best.

Great Australian movies

https://www.magpies.net/nick/bb/viewtopic.php?t=87161

A genuinely wholesome, patriotic thread with no arguments, name-calling, libel or death threats, and about that thing we all know and love: fair dinkum Ozzie cinema m8

Kim Jong Un

https://www.magpies.net/nick/bb/viewtopic.php?t=87196

He’s alive! He’s dead! He’s alive! Wait, what the hell was that all about?

Wild bucks/hens nights

https://www.magpies.net/nick/bb/viewtopic.php?t=86366

Presti35 poses an ethical dilemma that we’ve all wondered about: just how crazy can you get at the strip club before tying the knot with your beloved?

————————————

Or perhaps another thread takes your fancy? If so, feel free to nominate it here, but it has to have been started (or at least mostly posted in) after 1 July 2019. Votes accepted over the next two weeks, with results to be announced on Friday 7 August.

Also willing to take nominations for post and poster of the year (maybe we can collect them here and start a poll in another thread)!

We are voting for the #2 thread of the year, obviously. There is only one possible candidate for the number one thread.

Criteria?

Does the thread need to have been created during the financial year or can an older thread that good quality posts during the year qualify?

C'mon David, if I'm doing your annual performance review, you're not getting your bonus

^ I've been following the former criterion, but I will consider exceptions on a case-by-case basis. Wink

Rather than creating threads like this David, you need to be watching on repeat the 1970, 1979, and 1981 Grand Finals until you finally stop being some weirdo Pies supporter who has a soft spot for the Blues.

Until then, you should hang your head in shame.

SHAME, SHAME, SHAME!!!!

It has to be the Coronavirus thread (s)

Informative, full of drama yet also elements of comedy and tragedy.

Laughing

I thought of including the first COVID-19 thread, but felt like quality ought to count for more than quantity. Cool

1: There is only one Covid thread, it just happens to be split into two parts. (Please, please, let there be no need for a Part 3.)

1: Quality? You want quality? The thread has me in it. And Stui You don't get better quality than that.
