Reviewing the Collingwood Forever website, a player named 'Ransom" played 1 game, debuting in round 14 1894. Shocked Confused

Ransom, Ransom, Who was Ransom?

I remember him. I saw him eating a pie in the back pocket while his man kicked 4. Was furious.

All the searches I have made have only allowed me to go back to 1897. Profile says he debuted in Round 14 1894.

Though I searched the VFA and it would appear his only game was against Footscray at Victoria Park.

Collingwood 2.6.18
Footscray 4.6.30

I cannot find anymore info though.

There was a Alfred Ransom and a William Ransom on the electoral roll in Fitzroy in 1894.

And there was a Ransom playing for St Kilda in 1893... maybe he was a trade?

A one game player... you see the Pies had a lot of injuries back in '94 - training too hard or something like that and Ransom was brought in to make up numbers...

and then while starring off the half back flank he suffered a hamstring tear - he was tough (they had to be in those days just to put the boots on) and Ransom played on courageously knowing the team was relying on him - until he tore his ACL - game lost and career over! Sad

I found a 'Wulff' played in the 1890's - no first name or other info
