No one hurt, but what a devastating thing to happen.
Has anyone heard it was an accident or if it was believed to have been deliberately lit?

Funny, it always seems to happen to the best of people.
I remember when i was living in the country a local church burnt down. And two houses on the main street on the same night.
Eddie, if you need somewhere to stay, i'm just down the road from you....

Sympathies to you, Carla & young Joseph.
Most important that Carla & Joseph (according to news reports) appear to be unharmed. Hope Carla managed to grab a couple of "sentimental" items (the unreplaceables, like Joseph's newborn photos, wedding photos, wiritten documents guranteeing Mark Porter, Jade Rawlings and Ben Cousins to be at Collingwood in 2002...that sort of thing).

The Age said that the fire was started by a burning log that rolled out of the fireplace [snip] and that the front part of the house (both storeys) were gutted and the rest suffered smoke and water damage, meaning that it will end up being bulldozed anyway.
Eddie and family, commisirations and I wish you all good health and fortune.

Eddie, my thoughts are with you and your family - terrible luck, but fortunately it was only the material possessions, and no one was physically harmed. I do hope that you were able to save some of your personal items, such as photographs.

I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your home. Fortunately no-one was injured and those are the most important possesions of all.
All the best to you and yours.
