Score as above. Didn't hear Reids name mentioned much but didn't hear him do anything wrong either. _________________ Formally frankiboy and FrankieGoesToCollingwood. |

from the vfl site
Collingwood: 5.5.35 ~ 8.7.55 ~ 9.10.64 ~ 13.14.92
Werribee Tigers: 0.3.3 ~ 2.6.18 ~ 3.8.26 ~ 5.12.42
GOALS:
Collingwood: Brown 2, McCarthy 2, Rocca 2, Rounds, Sidebottom, Bennell, Sheahan, Bryan, Blight, Stanley.
BEST:
Collingwood: Wellingham, Stanley, Bryan, Barham, Corrie, Reid.
Surprising Rocca wasn't mentioned in the best. Took a few grabs, kicked 2 and had a hand in at least 3 or 4 others. Sidebottom and Clarke were also very good at times, perhaps not the full 4 qtrs. _________________ Formally frankiboy and FrankieGoesToCollingwood. |

Welingham was BOG by a mile.
Very impressive performance. Must come into calculations in the one's
JMac got through and played quite well. Sidey got it enough but his kicking let him down in the windy conditions.
Here are a few piccies from this afternoon.

Comrades
Ventured down to Price-fixer Park today and can report the following.
Numerous jars were consumed by our little group as we watched the Piues trounce Werribee.
Wellingham- hard at it and set up numerous attacking moves.
Rocca- tried hard and warmed to the game until the last quarter when he really got involved and kicked two and began to really crash the packs.
Scott Reed- made some 'rookie' errors but was very solid and has a real dip at the contested ball.
Ben Reid- seems to get better every week- links up well from half back, and disposal seems more assured.
Stanley - very solid.
Cook- tried hard all day.
Barham- no left foot, but worked hard all day.
Nathan Brown- had a number of shots on goal- really worked his way into the game and ended up down back. Not far away.
The Bear- rucked from the start of the game, pushing forward to have a few shots on goal- looked very solid in what he did.
Keefe- started down back on Nathan Thompson, but ended up in the ruck- again, he seems to be growing in confidence with each outing at this level.
bennell- has some tricks.
Blair- very hard at it
Corrie- flashy, but did some good run downs and team lifting efforts.
Blight- predominantly played on the wing and didnt do too much.
Rounds- tackles very hard and kicked a sharp goal in the last.
Clark- ran, and ran and ran- sometimes to good effect. A clever player for sure.
Went to the game with a good crew of Magpie fans and can report the following
Johnny- was distracted early by the opposite gender and spent most of his day trying to, "cut one from the herd"
Ron- was down a little due to an eye complaint but enjoyed the win at this most hated of grounds for true Magpie fans.
Paul- a lair who 'showboated' on the ground after the game- lacks judgement on the finer points of our game but a loyal Magpie, still crowing after last nite in front of the TV.
Me- an honest battler- working hard to earn his wage.
Looking forward to a bright future at Magpie Land- cant wait to get back to Victoria Park!! _________________ Firm in the belief that number 17 flag is only months away... |
