Believe it or not some people stated he wasn't even good enough to play VFL football..Could of been a wonderful collingwood story!
Get ready for the mark of all centuries...Its only going to be a matter of time!
Great debut Liam well done mate.

Oh our football department are such good judges of talent. |
Yeh, just look where Melbourne's judges of talent have got them.

The kid looked great didnt he. Seemed very poised for a first gamer.
Well done Liam

Stepped up tp AFL level in his first game. I was hoping Melbourne would win. Liam did some good things and in saying that was lazy at times. Will get better on that performance. Dean Bailey has to go or Melbourne is going no where.

To make matters worse, the Collingwood team was at Tullamarine yesterday as Liam's family were arriving from Alice Aprings before last night's game. Daisy, Maxwell and Pendles all told Liam's mum to pass on their best wishes to Liam for his debut game, and they went on to say that if it had been up to them Liam would have been traveling on the plane with them up to Sydney.

I'm about to cry...after reading Rudeboy's post....
ZAs for the copmment he was lazy - i don't think that was the case - I suspect he hasn't got an enough stamina yet - give him a couple of seasons...

I think it is a wonderful story and he think he played a great game.
But I don't think he'll make it at AFL level. No doubt we'll see sparks of brilliance from him, and at times we'll be amazed at him.
I'm just making a call on what I've seen. Whether he takes the next step or not is up to him. To be honest i never thought he'd even make it this far...so he keeps defying the odds.
But i was so wrapped everytime he got the ball. His goal was amazing and i gave my mate a big high 5 when he scored it. I'll be wishing him luck and cheering him on. He's what Melbourne need...something to cheer about.
But I don't think he'll make it as a star of the game.

Mark my words, Liam Jurrah will be an absolute star of the AFL within 2 yrs. This kid has everything. His career starts on Friday night wearing red and blue. It's an absolute disgrace that he won't be in black and white. Heads should roll at Collingwood over this f%ck up. |
Maybe he was too much Magpie for some Rudeboy? I share your dissappointment. |
My therapist tells me I should let it go. |
Hows the therapy going mate? I bet they had their mobile turned off last night.
