Thank God for that!!!!! |
Harsh.. Another 'no-kids-no-opinion' person ey? What Dale should have said was "My kids wouldn't do something that stupid because I'd have taught them a thing or two about morality". Anyway.. _________________

Yes that's what I said. IF I had a son, he would know not to drink and drive on his leaners permit, mainly because I'd be in the car with him which is my responsibility. Accountability. _________________

This Indian student could not give a shit about our laws. That is why he drove off his face on a learners permit. Firing squad. |

IF I had a son, he wouldn't even dare think about drinking and driving. I would have raised him to respect the law, but IF he did drink and drive, he wouldn't have a car to do it in again. _________________ Whale

do you guys not undestand hypthoticals?
its like asking IF collingwood won the premieship how would you celebrate, and you keep replying "collingwood wont win the premiership"/ its avoiding the question
I ask it to 'dale' because i'm always interested when people make such extreme statements about minors, if they'd say the same about their own |

No, if that were the case, we would be answering "I don't have kids". We are saying "if we did...".
And I find it funny that you think it's ok to allow your child to drink before they jump in a car with you to learn how to drive. Shame on you. Stop trying to make out like we're making out that we're perfect. We are saying our children would not be driving a car whilst drunk whilst in our presence. Understand? Excuse me for wanting to be a good parent I don't need kids to know how a parent SHOULD behave, ok? _________________

i'd love for you to show me where i said this...
the question wasnt even aimed at you, it was aimed at dale's remark that he'd have throw a party if the kid killed himself... i haven't disageed with anything you've said.
however it is a bit rich saying "my kid would never do that etc etc... "as if teenagers are that predictable and that easy to train. and you could be a great parent too...you just never know. |

Sorry, I thought you were talking to me. You do realise a child on their learners must be with a fully licenced adult though? That would be me, you realise that too, right?
Mind you, you did say "you guys" and "the two of you", I think it's pretty safe to say I'm one of those two. _________________

yeh well that was after you volunteered to answer the question...
i mean, dale was saying kill him and all that..
its not out of the realm of possibility that IF he had a kid he would misbehave, take the car out on his own without licence and something like this happens. unilikely perhaps but not impossible. teens do misbehave and act without thinking sometimes, even with great parents (or what they think is great)
my cousin when she was on her L's, snuck the car out and was backing out of the carpark, ran over and murdered a young dad.
it was an incredibly tragic incident, our family recieved death threats for a long time, i can;t seem to remember what sentence she received. if it was anyone else we probably would have wanted her locked away for good but opinions sure change when it happens to you or someone you know
some in this thread, like dale, seem too eager to make the most extreme of judgements to this foreigner... not that what he did isnt incredibly wrong
i dont know
maybe i'm too sympathetic with all people |
