Don't mean to be a back-seat mod but doesn't anyone else think this thread's gone on long enough? No one's coming out of it looking much good.
Forums like this shouldn't be a place to air private personal grievances IMHO. _________________ "The greatest thing that could happen to the nation is when we get rid of all the media. Then we could live in peace and tranquillity, and no one would know anything." - Sir Joh Bjelke-Petersen |

And if it is good enough for other magpie fans to respect Jamies obvious choice for privacy then it should be good enough for Magpie Dan to accept as well.

Interesting that in tonight's MX there's an article written by our own Scotty Cummings. I'll try and get the whole article up later, but in the meantime, here's a few relevant tidbits for you all.
Some i think relates to this thread and some relate specifically with the Buddy Franklyn/John Anthony thread.
Quote: | Occasionally, we hear of players getting themselves into trouble while being out on the town.
And it really isn’t much more than occasionally when you think about it.
But when we do hear about it, we hear so many different versions of the event that it’s hard to know what to believe.
So why is it that most people believe the worst straight away?
Why are most people so quick to condemn the player in question as the guilty party?
Throughout the night, players get people telling them they’re great and people telling them they’re crap (trust me, it happens).
A third of guys want to shake hands with them, a third want to belt them and the other third don’t really care.
How many people go out and have to contend with absolute strangers coming up to them and letting them know what they think of them?
Everything they do and everything they say is judged by complete strangers.
Some players handle it better than others, I had a habit of talking to anyone that would stop still long enough to listen – but others want to be left alone.
So many times I’ve seen people cross the line and when the players react is when the problems begin.
If they’re lucky, they’ll get away with someone walking away thinking bad things about them.
That’s if they’re lucky. |
