Any hints on how to turn my pc on?

When it is shut down, the on/off button seems to be not working so the pc won't turn on. Have turned it off at the wall, unplugged it but still no go.

Been happening for a while, but have got around it by not shutting down the pc, but someone else used it last week, and now it won't come back on.

Anyone got any hints?

Could be your Computer is Fried, Power Pack is Gone,

In other words your computer sounds like it's dead

I think if it were the powerpack it wouldn't have stayed on in the first place... Although I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to electronics.

Maybe a loose wire connecting the on-off switch to everything else? Get somebody to check the PC with a multimeter.

Sounds like a failed power supply (PSU).

Not you can do if it has; just take it in to a tech and get them to replace it.

That's possible, the fact that it's been working leads me to believe that it could be something as simple as a faulty on/off switch.
Assuming that is the problem, a new case would probably be the most viable solution. You can get em as cheap as 20 bucks.
But like I said "assuming". Almost impossible to tell without actually seeing it.
As Dale said, best to take it to a tech

Thanks for your advice, the faulty PSU/ on/off switch, sounds a whole lot cheaper than replacing the whole PC!
