Not if the people in question are Christians, of course.
Bwphantom makes a good point in the above post. Christianity is probably responsible for far more atrocities in the history of the world than Islam.
However, I think it's fair to say that Christianity has evolved past the fundamentalist stage that defined it back in the middle ages and afterwards. Sure, there are still nutcase elements out there, but they're fortunately in the vast minority and not quite as violent as their extremist Muslim counterparts. |
And yet George W liked his invasion of Iraq to a "Crusade".
Seems he must still live in the 12th century then.
Can you explain what the IRA and UDF (both Christian organisations) where doing in Ireland from the 60's through to the 90's? _________________ The one man in the world, who never believes he is mad, is the madman. |

Dubya really does come out with some truly moronic stuff now and then doesn't he...
Despite that, I have never seen the war in Iraq as a battle between religions so much as a protection of the American (and western world's) interests and a knee-jerk reaction to 9/11.
OK, points for bringing up Ireland, but I think you'll agree that religion wasn't the only factor in that particular country... and I think you'll also agree that there's a difference between religious infighting within a country (which happens across the world now, and certainly not just with Islam) and declaring a global jihad.
What's the point of this, anyhow? For all their similarities, Islam and Christianity are different religions, and they also exist in very different cultures. The point you seem to want to make is that all religions are equally evil. Are we not allowed to discuss a particular religion without acknowleding the faults of others? _________________ "Every time we witness an injustice and do not act, we train our character to be passive in its presence." – Julian Assange

Religion is just an excuse and smokescreen of evil acts against humanity.
Everything mentioned above such as IRA etc is beyond being motivated by Religion. It is just pure hatred and evil. Unfortunately we all say we can learn from History, but our progress from the past, as far as how we treat each other, is very little if not at all.
Back on topic. I do not know much about this Lady. But I do know that she was a Leader of people and what she stood for was admirable. Another sad Day in history as another potential leader to move things forward has now been assassinated. RIP. _________________ All this may be summed up in one word - CHARACTER - and if that is not worth developing, nothing is.

One of our 6 Collins class Subs????
If someone was standing on a beach in Pakistan they would be able to hear a Collins class sub coming as soon as it left Aus.
Then with a fairly decent sling shot they would be able to sink it. _________________ The one man in the world, who never believes he is mad, is the madman. |
