I'm taking off for awhile....

I am going to be hopping a bus in the morning for the West Coast, I am looking for a new place to live for the family. They have found some cheap houses on the West Coast, and I am going to take a look at them and then report back.

I'm not sure if I am going to be back around here posting until next year, so I am going to say Merry Christmas, happy new year, and hope everyone has a safe holiday period.

I am also planning on jumping on a plane back to Melbourne by Mid January that's if things go as planned and everything settles down around here. So yeah take care and I will be back at some point in the next few weeks.

Found a place today, going to move in once we get the money to pay bond, and then in a few weeks I am going back to Melbourne, yay.

so you have come and gone dave? what's the story, presumably mission accomplished because for someone who was not going to post for a while you certainly haven't done a very good job.

Official move is on Wednesday, I lose the net and will not have power until then we have signed the lease and will be getting a truck to move the stuff then. I had thought maybe we would have been moving a bit earlier but seems the trucks have been hard to book because of the Christmas break coming up.

It's in a decent spot, there is a pool just across the road, well it's a small walk and then you cross...the township of Queesnstown is a about a 5 minute walk...the worst part is I am not going to be able to watch Glenorchy play next season as I had hoped.

I will most likely be taking another TAFE course and will occupy myself with that to keep myself busy while I plan out my future as I have no idea what I want to do...To be honest Queenstown would be the last place on earth I would move if given a choice, but the choices weren't there.

There's nothing wrong with the place, it's just 5 hours away from anything major, 2 hours from Burnie, and 5 hours from Launceston and Hobart. Then there is living so close to Sue after everything has happened...so I have that to contend with.

As well as her insistence on me attending the local bar Mt Lyall Tavern on the first Friday I am there. I don't think it's the sort of place a diabetic should be...but then I don't have to drink either...but...then there is nothing really to do in the place.

I will have Austar to keep me entertained, as well as I am able to get a Collingwood membership with the cheapness of the rent and all. So I will somehow make a go of things...I am not sure when they will get the net on up there since we have to transfer that over.

Might not get it until the new year....which would be a pain in the ass because that will then leave me with nothing.

maybe you should investigate mobile broadband but i don't think you can get it for less than 12 or 24 months. plus coverage probably sucks. oh well, all the best for the move and the new year.
