It's a bit of a beat-up, but then again isn't it always the way with this kind of thing?
The issue isn't so much that Rudd went to a strip club... some old grannys might have gotten upset and voted Howard just on that, but I'd like to believe we've got a fairly open-minded society these days.
I agree with Stui's last post, and the quote in the (admittedly tabloid) newspaper. It goes a little drastically against Rudd's image, and that is where he is probably going to feel the most pain from this news story. _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |

Don't like him, but really who cares, he's a man which male hasn't ventured the way down to a strip club sometime in their life. _________________ The black & white jumper, worn by heroes worshipped by millions. |

While in New York to represent Australia at the UN. Thats funny.
I regularly go the the US for conferences and it fairly easy to end up with a bunch of hardcore drinkers that could lead you astray. Hell, most the time its me doing the planning. The difficult part is finding people to tag along. Just look at poor Didak, he's just a regular bloke.
My concern is not at the average bloke, but rather at why world leaders at a major world event would end up going that far.
What does that say about our world leaders? _________________ Born, Live and Die a Magpie |

Coalition will want to be very careful here given certain skeletons in certain closets. Surely the man of steel is above this sort of thing. One could almost describe his behaviour as gowardly. |

Bang bang!
The sound of yet another Liberal smear campaign backfiring.
Rudd has been portrayed as an "everyman". This smear attempt only shows that he truly is just a normal bloke.

Yup, an "everyman" who somehow gets shitfaced for the 2nd time in his life, ends up at a strip joint, can't remember a thing but is so upset he phones his wife to confess. Comes across as a total dweeb who can't decide which part of his made up public personality he's supposed to be.
If he'd just said, "yeah, I went to a strip club. It's quite common in diplomatic circles" or something like that I might have some respect for the tool but this poor attempt at deflection shows a cardboard cutout with no stones.
Ta for the prod Omar.

I am just wondering what the problem is with him getting shitfaced and going to a strip club? I mean he didn't belt her did he? Didn't do anything illegal? Old Johnny might need to start visiting his voters there one night they might start to think he is more in touch with the new generation _________________ Ðavâgé

Yes in Melbourne we call these tunnels "the loop".
The f cking Herald Sun I wonder how long they've been sitting on that story before their Liberal party strategists decided it was the right time.
BTW do Lib members get newsletters of something or just a subscription to the Hun? Stui? _________________ - "Number 42? I see you've got Darren Millane in the Heaven footy side"
