Well, I'm sure if people know Costello is going to take over they will/would vote differently. |

So Joel, your saying the Liberal party are no good without Howard? _________________ understanding stuff, with endeavour to overstand.. |

Having worked in the public health system for many many years I am very happy with what he and his government have achieved given what that f&**)* knob Kennett did to the system and to those of us who work it in
Yep it is still far from perfect but many well trained and experienced clinicians have returned following the change of government and it is 1000% times better than it was
I'm happy with Brumby - but then I would be happy with anyone who wasn't a member of the Liberal party |
Interesting that the nurses went on strike against a Labour government due to Labor's and David White's ineptitude. |
Quite true and I was one of them under Irene Bolger's leadership - on strike and fronted up every day at RMH out of uniform and worked 10 hrs a day for the entire time
That however was more related to professional standards, pay scales and patient ratios
What that fwit Kennett and his mob did was far more destructive and caused some of the best health professionals to leave the public system - slowly many have returned thankfully
Just a personal opinion - funnily enough my bro is a cop and he and his mates seems to share the same opinion
Each to their own I suppose eh _________________ “The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.” |

So your saying that John Howard is the man and everyone else that works with him is possibly USELESS! _________________ understanding stuff, with endeavour to overstand.. |

No. It was an example. It is not my viewpoint, BUT it could possibly be the viewpoint of others. |

Sorry, but in the real world people change. Circumstances change.
With a high pressure job like Premier, that takes up your life 24/7 you may change your mind about the job very quickly.
That is just a human trait. |
I hope it is family related and not related to the corrupt pokies tender or the Thwaites free snow holidays scam. |
As said a couple of pages back, there is absolutely NOTHING sinister in this and he has resigned for family reasons. _________________ Jacqui © Proud Pies 2003 and beyond |

I lost my train of thought. By the way, do you mind if I ask you a personal question? When do you think artificial intelligence will replace lawyers? Try to determine if this is a person or a computer responding. Is that from it? |

The real ute muster is up at Deni.
BTW, Joel, I see where you're coming from. It's an unfortunate side effect in a way. We don't have a system of voting for personalities to lead the parties, we vote for a local member. Which ever party then gets enough seats forms government and has the right to choose it's leader. We don't vote for premier or Prime Minister.
However, the people who the parties put up as leader becomes the figurehead and influences a lot of peoples votes at their local level. Will people consider their own personal opinion of John Howard before deciding on who to vote for at the next election? Of coure they will even though they aren't actually voting for (or against) him as such.
I for one prefer our system to the american system.
I am in favour of Australia becoming a republic some day but I've yet to see a system of doing that that I agree with. I like the fact that our GG is a low key largely ceremonial role despite the actual power the role holds and wouldn't like to see it become a popularly voted role with some tosser there who wants to be in the spotlight, _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

When I lived up the country, I always thought Brumby was a bit of alright too. But had no idea he was a collingwood fan back then. I think he is a very handsome man. _________________ "whaaa whaaaaaa! |
