Bought a copy the other day, haven't installed it as of yet cos for some reason the Home Premium version doesn't let you upgrade (only a clean install) and I just haven't had time to back up files and and go through re-installing everything. Too busy making silly pictures and goofing around Nick's lol.
All ready to go as far as hardware compatibility and all that goes, just looking for some heads up on what to expect, what to look forward to and what not to.

And before you answer Dale, I'm cashed up and don't mind throwing money away Wink

I'm not a fan. Had minimal contact, but had to set up a laptop at work that had it. Truly slow and unimpressive system. And very, very power hungry.
My sister, against my advice, bought a new computer with Vista. The cockhead at JB Hi-Fi told her that XP had been withdrawn 6 months ago and they had no XP systems left. Even said they had to return any XP boxes! But I was in 2 JB's last weekend, including the offending store, and both had XP systems. Even XP media centre, which I do recommend.
At this stage Vista is nothing but trouble. Another couple of years and I'm sure it will be Ok, but not yet.

P.S. Do a google search and find out how to turn off that damned annoying feature of Vista that asks for your permission to do ANYTHING!

Micro$oft: Failure is not an option; it comes bundled with the software.

VISTA: Viruses, Intruders, Spyware, Trojans, Adware.

I'm using it, problem is once installed you can revert, hence you are stuck with it.
Lots of problems with other software not being compatible and Vista, it will sometimes alter security settings for no apparent reason.

Not a huge fan.
I understand a service pack will be available shortly to remedy some of the deficiencies
